People dream of houses like this when they think of LA. Tile roof, stucco, 1 br/1 ba. Tile & hardwood floors throughout, central heating, charming kitchen, living and dining rooms. Only 3 mi. from USC, convenient to transit, freeways, LAX. Furnished.
For someone eager to know what a real LA neighborhood feels like, this location is ideal. It's in Leimert Park, the cultural heart of African American Los Angeles. Shopping, various eateries, banking, dry cleaning, a good bookstore and a multi-screen movie theater and other services are within easy walking distance. Mine is a block on which neighbors greet one another.
Guests may freely use the bedrooms and bathroom, kitchen, living and dining rooms and entryway. For now, the second bedroom and a home office adjacent to the kitchen are off-limits because I use it for storage. No pets and no smoking indoors, please.
Please no smoking or animals indoors. Treat my home as you would treat yours. Thank you.
I will not be present during guests' stay, but you may reach me by phone.
Helen Keller said it best: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." I'm a native Californian, a journalist who's lived in many parts of the US and traveled widely beyond. I've just moved to the East San Francisco Bay area after 18 fascinating months editing a daily newspaper in Opelousas, Louisiana. Wherever I am, I maintain a spirit of wanderlust I hope to share with you as an independent-minded, active and low-maintenance traveler.
