Perfect for solo or duo *female guests, attending IU special event weekends, Jacobs School of Music events or auditions, or here in Bloomington on business. *Due to shared living spaces.

The space
NB: *** Due to the coronavirus, we’re practicing social distancing & taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.***

Our upstairs suite (the entire upstairs) comprises a bedroom with TV, adjoining office/study overlooking the backyard, and full bathroom. Our home reflects the many years this Bloomington native lived in Europe and has what Germans call "Gemutlichkeit" - a mixture of warmth, friendliness & comfort. You'll feel at home with the original hardwood floors and thriving houseplants in the sunroom & throughout the house.

Good sleep is important! The beds have 100% Supima Cotton (Damask) 550 thread-count bedding.

As travelers and frequent Air BnBers, we've tried to anticipate everything a traveler could need. The kitchen is yours to use -- cook a full meal! Enjoy breakfast items -- granola, bagels and/or English Muffins, eggs, orange juice and milk. Cookware, dishes, cutlery, herbs, spices, oils, condiments, coffee & tea are yours to use and enjoy.

Our large back garden is a veritable wildlife sanctuary with dozens of varieties of birds, including hummingbirds (April-September) Finches (mainly gold and purple), Woodpeckers (7 kinds!), Wrens, Robins, Bluebirds, Nuthatches, and of course the Indiana state bird, the Cardinal. Use the binoculars in the sun room bookcase and see what others you can identify.

I'm a technology marketer and mom to a soon-to-be IU graduate. I'm also a Bloomington native - a "Bloomeranger" who returned for graduate school and decided to stay! You can't get much more globally connected in the Midwest than Bloomington.

After studying in Edinburgh, Scotland in college and backpacking in Europe, I was inspired to live and work overseas, and later, share with my family, the experience of outbound international exchange programs, including hosting Rotary and Operation Friendship international exchange students. No surprise that most of my career has been in tourism and travel industry marketing, but have now gravitated to the technology world.

When I'm not traveling to new (and old favorite) destinations, I enjoy attending live music performances -- especially here in town or down in Nashville TN, hiking one of our Sycamore Land Trust or State Park trails, and watching my country music-loving son perform at one of our local venues. I was born in Bakersfield, CA so am genetically predisposed to the Bakersfield sound!
