The trailers are a cozy retreat but the heart of this space is the luxurious porch with beautiful views of Big Bend National Park, and at night, the milky way.
Walking distance from the Ghost Town yet feels like you're in the middle of nowhere.

The space

Think of camping with all the amenities~ Shower, indoor or out, kitchen, refrigeration, electricity, air conditioning, sailboat style flush toilet, additional bathhouse, nice bedding, all available for you to live in or use if you choose to camp.

The property has two adjacent trailers with a separate bathhouse between them, including an outdoor shower. The trailers are never rented to separate parties.
Each trailer is perfectly suitable for 2 people.
Each trailer has a private bathroom and both trailers share the bathhouse.
There is a futon in one of the trailers, making it comfortable sleeping for 4 people and increasing the party size to 6 total.
Again, the trailer will only be rented to one party to insure your privacy.

On cloudless nights Big Bend has an incredibly dark night sky, free of light pollution, offering a full canopy of stars.
You may also enjoy sleeping under the covered porch where you will find a bed on wheels that is perfect on cool, star filled nights.

The road to the trailer is an all weather dirt road most of the year. July through September is our rainy season and it can get muddy and on occasion, flash flooding happens in the arroyos. You don't need 4x4 and high clearance is not necessary, but some clearance is.

Sorry, no dogs allowed.

Guest access

For now, we have no internet access, only a land line. Cell service works good for most carriers and texting seems to work great for everyone. Internet is available at La Posada Milagro y Poco Mas Cafe, in the Terlingua Ghost Town. A sweet spot where people gather, play music, share stories of the area.

Interaction with guests

I am a phone call away &/or a 10 minute drive if you need anything; suggest ideas for hikes, biking, river trips, birding, anything that comes to mind. I would be happy to meet you upon arrival to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
If not, I'll respect your privacy and let you contact me with any needs you may have.

Other things to note

While we love both, children under 16 and pets are not allowed . There are too many ways to get lost or hurt.

Wonderful trailers to stay in to visit Big Bend National park. Kym fabulous host from my initial contact , through arrival to leaving. Trailers well equipped with everything you need.Spoltessly clean, great showers both indoor & out. Sleeping under the stars, uninterrupted view of Sunset over theChisos & sunrise. Kym so kind & knowledgeable of area, with maps, brouchers & always available by phone to help out with anything. Would thoroughly recommend staying here for a real experience of the desert & good West Texan hospitality.

Kym's cozy caravan was great. Easy access to Big Bend and the funkiness Terlingua has to offer. Thoughtful selection of books at the trailer and the new shower room was excellent.

Kym's place was so great! There was so much more room than we expected. I was traveling with my family and it was their first airbnb experience. They loved it! I was impressed with the entire property but the new bathhouse was exceptional. I'd definitely stay here again!

Terrific place in the outskirts of Terligua - close the the Ghost Town but far enough away from other properties to still feel secluded. Great panoramic view of the Chisos mountains and Terlingua. When we weren’t camping in the Big Bend backcountry, we enjoyed every sunset and sunrise on the spacious patio.

Kym's Cozy Caravan was a wonderful retreat in Terlingua. Very private beautiful vistas to look at. Very clean and everything worked. All you need is your food provisions. Thanks again Kym

We booked Kym's place because it looked like it would provide a great base camp for a few days of mountain biking in the Terlingua/Lajitas area and we were not disappointed. The caravans and newly finished bath house were a terrific place to clean up, grill, and watch the sun set (and rise) between epic rides in the Big Bend country. In addition, Kym's place has a great central location in the area so all key items-beer, groceries, coffee, margaritas, etc-are easy to access. Kym was an attentive host even though the place was so well kept we did not have to bug her for much except to confirm details on how various items functioned with the caravans. Thanks Kym. The place was great and we will see you next time we are out in the Big Bend.

I have lived in Terlingua, the gate way to Big Bend National Park, for 27 years. I've been a boat-woman, a park ranger, a kennel owner/operator, bird guide, I even dabbled in catering. All giving me a vast understanding of this area to share with guests.
Now I want to help people connect with great places to stay and have an opportunity to explore this little known and remote National Park and State Park.
