Alberto and his wife are sweet and kind hosts who are eager to see that your stay is comfortable, and available most any time if you have questions. The room was cozy and comfortable, and I loved the street view from the balcony (and the delicious fresh air!). One bathroom was shared amongst guests, which seemed to work out just fine to me. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. There were homemade cakes and fresh rolls sprinkled with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, juices, a plate with cheese and salami...a very nice spread. :) The cakes usually are light and not overpowering in flavor, which I like because you can either enjoy as is, or try it with one of the assortments of jam. Each morning Alberto would make fresh cappuccino upon request--so good! And the view through the dining room to the back balcony is breathtaking. Please, if you stay here, do yourself a favor and catch a sunrise before breakfast. :) Getting to/from Pacentro: I missed the bus to get me to this incredible mountain village the first time around. Having heavy luggage and no Italian to me, it was somewhat of a nightmare. In the company of a few fellas at the bar by the station, one kindly called me a cab. I would of course recommend the bus over a 25 euro cab, so make sure one of the first things you do is to grab a schedule (if there is one), or ask Alberto what the first and last times are, and increments between. I was traveling alone as a woman for three weeks, visiting 7 different cities in Italy, and it was without a doubt the most authentic experience here in Pacentro, as most spoke Italian only. So also keep this in mind when planning a trip. I felt mostly comfortable in this, having made this my last stop and so picking up some words along the way. Plus, everyone here is SO FRIENDLY! You'll walk down the street and hear from everyone a warm" ciao" or "buongiorno." And if someone does know English, they take a moment to chat so you feel more at ease and welcome in town. I was here in large part to search for family history. My great grandfather was from Sulmona, and I thought perhaps there may also be a connection to Pacentro. Staying in Sulmona would perhaps have been easier in regard to research there. However, I do not regret my choice in Pacentro and staying at Alerbto's. Pacentro is a gem to be experienced. The mountain air is the best I have ever breathed (including CO), and the water is fresh from the mountain. It's a beautiful town to explore and to see from a short distance away. And easy enough to get to Sulmona. So give it a try--you won't regret it! :) Overall: great stay. Grazie mille, Alberto!

I had a wonderful stay in Alberto's B&B and can highly recommend it! I stayed in Pacentro for three days while travelling in Abruzzo. I used the village as a base to go walking a bit in the surrounding countryside which is really beautiful. Pacentro is reachable by bus via Sulmona, so it's a good choice if you don't have a car. Alberto and his mother made me feel very welcome and the breakfast was fantastic. Clean, comfortable rooms with fast Wifi. I felt really welcome and would love to come back!

Alberto runs a lovely little BnB in the charming town of Pacentro. He was very fast on all communication, and even facilitated my transfer from Sulmona directly. The rooms were Breakfast on the terrace! Alberto provides a great spread, sometimes cooked eggs, cakes baked by his grandmother, freshly-made coffee and fruit/yoghurt. Everything needed to fuel up for the trails.

Alberto and his mother were easily two of the most gracious and interesting hosts we encountered on our trip! The B&B is perfectly located in the center, with comfortable rooms (some steep steps) and a fabulous terrace with a sweeping view of the unique town!

What a wonderful BnB experience in Pacentro, the best kept secret in Italy! Alberto was a great and accommodating host, graciously picking up me and my wife at the Sulmona train station as well as driving us back on our last day. Comfortable room with breathtaking views, unbelievably good breakfast including homemade breads and pastries, and great location in the center of the village. Cannot recommend highly enough!
