This is your perfect gateway house intended either for relaxed stays on the island or as a base from which you can visit the city of Dubrovnik. Stay here and enjoy its spacious terrace with a beautiful seaside view surrounded by a mediterranean garden.

The space

This apartment is situated in a conveniently located house commanding beautiful views of the stunning bay of Donje Celo, on the island of Kolocep. It has been recently completely refurbished to a high standard and can comfortably accommodate 4-5 people on the middle floor. For bigger groups the top floor of the house with a 2 person suite and a terrace can be rented additionally.

The house is right by the sea, and a couple of minutes from the grocery shop, post office, cafe, bistro and a cosy restaurant. A short walk along the bay, in a very romantic setting, there is a charming restaurant popular for evening meals (Villa Ruža). The main sandy beach on the island is a three-minute walk from the house, with options of renting sun umbrellas, beach loungers and kayaks.

Guest access

The apartment is equipped with air conditioning in every room, wireless internet, washer, DVD player and a satellite TV. The kitchen is also very well equipped, with dish washer, kettle, microwave, oven and a toaster.

There's a private spacious terrace with a garden surrounded by Mediterranean plants at your disposal. On the terrace there is a dining table, outdoor shower, barbecue and deck chairs from which you can enjoy beautiful sunsets.

Interaction with guests

Our family will meet you and greet you, explain you everything there is to know about the house and the island and help you with anything you may need, and we will most probably be in the city house during your stay.

Great house, great location, great host. Kolocep is close enough to Dubrovnik to pop across on the ferry for groceries / sightseeing, but far enough away to avoid the crowds. There's plenty of exploring to do around the island if adventurous, or just sit on the patio and ease into the rhythms of the island; watch the ferry come in, have a coffee, take a swim, walk to another cover, take a drink, watch the sunset.

This is a beautiful apartment and actually the photos and description dont do it justice. It is finished beautifully inside but the garden really makes it. The location is fantastic on Kolocep right next to the ferry pier (which the kida spent hours and hours jumping off into the clear blue sea). We were a family of 5

I would very highly recommend this place! The apartment is very clean, well decorated and very well equipped. It has a lovely garden and a panoramic view of the harbour from the house and garden. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful. Best of all is the superb location. Kolocep is absolutely beautiful and this apartment has the best location in the island as it is a very short walk from the ferry, shop and restaurant whilst being quiet and peaceful with beautiful views all around.

What can I say except ....Wow, amazing, beautiful, relaxing, perfect. Apartment Esperanza is everything described and much more. I stayed there two weeks ago with my three teenage children. We have had one of our best holidays ever staying here. From start to finish, Nada was a perfect host. She replied promptly to all of my questions. She offered to help with our travel arrangements from the airport and back. She gave me clear instructions on how to get the ferry "Postira" from Gruz to the Island, which was really straight forward and she also knew of luggage storage places for us to leave our suitcases at Gruz and in Dubrovnick. Nada greeted us from the ferry at Kolocep. You could see the orange house from the ferry as we sailed in. It was then that we knew it's location was simply perfect. Nada helped us with our bags to the apartment, which was a very short walk from the ferry. Nada had put fresh orange juice and water in the fridge for us and there was fresh fruit on the table with some fantastic home made marmelade. She gave us a tour of the apartment and gardens and told us about things we could do on the island and places to eat out. Inside the apartment it was spotlessly clean, light, bright and beautifully decorated. There was air conditioning in every room (including bedrooms) which was quiet and very efficient. We stayed there when the temperatures were soaring , but the apartment stayed cool. The kitchen was equipped brilliantly, with washing powder and dishwasher tablets provided. And ice already made in the freezer. The beds were really comfortable too. But it was the outside areas which made our holiday. There was space for all of us to sunbathe comfortably and privately. The large dining table was used constantly, as was the fantastic outside shower, which we could cool off in at any time. We used the outside bbq also. The gardens were were lush and secluded and had beatiful views over the bay, where we watched the sun-set every evening. The sea was literally at the bottom of the garden, where you could climb down steps, or jump off jettes, directly into the crystal clear water. Luckily I had read before our holiday that some parts of Croatia's sea were rocky and had sea urchins. So I had packed sea shoes for us all, which I would recommend. Also, there is a small sandy beach a short walk around the bay, infront of the hotel. But we only went there once, preferring to swim in the sea outside the apartment then go back to the garden to dry off. Absolute bliss. The island had plenty of bars and restaurants to keep us busy for 5 days. One of our best meals was at the other village on the opposite side of the island. This was a stunning 20 minute walk through forest. The restaurant was reasonably priced with very...

The apartment was lovely, homely & clean and in a wonderful location. We were warmly welcomed with eggs, milk, bread & fresh fruit and given lots of useful info on the island. The views from the apartment were beautiful and we fell in love with Kolocep. The location is superb and we loved every minute of our stay. Would love to return very soon! Thanks again!

We stayed with Djivo to celebrate our friend getting married this summer, so this was just us girls alone for four days. Our stay at Djivo's place was really amazing. Starting with Djivo and his family who took great care of us, gave us the most amazing marmelade ever (thank you!) and not to mention all the info we got... and we loved the house decor and the garden/terrace. Our stay was mostly walking around the island (which is beautiful btw.), reading and enjoying our time together. So if you want to spend some time with your friends in a beautiful place, this is it :)

Djivo was very friendly, he explained everything about the house and told me that it's very quiet now before the season starts so we felt like we had the island to ourselsves as we only saw a couple of locals around. My family and I spent our days enjoying the sunsets and the sea view from the terrace adn hiking on the island. The house was very pleasant, so we dined at home and spent the evevnings watching dvds. All in all, we spent a great, relaxing holiday there.
