We were reluctant to leave this beautiful place. Beynac is like a fairy tale village. Sitting on the terrace in the evenings overlooking the Dordogne was just the perfect way to end a day's outings. There is so much to see around the area, châteaus, caves, rivers, enchanting villages. On top of how lovely the area is, is staying at Odile's property. The loft room is big, the bed is king sized, lovely pillows & linen. Everything is very clean. Lots of great loft style windows to let in the breezes & light. A little kitchenette with hot plates, fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave & coffee maker, cozy couch & tv, table & chairs. Odile supplies tea bags & some coffee, olive oil, balsamic, sugar, s&p and basic toiletries. The village is on the side of a hill. There are steps into the apartment. Parking wasn't an issue, we parked free up the hill on the way to the castle, or overnight in the car park at the bottom of the hill & moved in the mornings. We arrived quite late & hadn't eaten since breakfast & Odile arranged for the hotel on the corner to keep the kitchen open for us. A delicious wild mushroom omelet & glass of wine. Arthur (the friendly jack russell terrier) & Poppin (the black cat) are cute to have around without being intrusive. Yvonne (Odile's son) also lives on the property & speaks English well enough for us to ask questions & translate to Odile for us. Both are lovely gentle people who take great pride in their village & property. There is a bakery, butchery & small supermarket a short walk down the hill, quite a few restaurants. We bought fresh produce at the Le Bugue markets & cooked at the apartment twice & ate on the terrace. Had a lovely lunch at a cafe de la fluere at Daglan, winery Cave Vignerons Coteaux de Ceau Montcalou is worth a vist & the nearby lookout. Also had lunch at Thonac village at the hotel, we can't remember the name, but the hotel is one side of the street with outdoor tables across the other. Great set lunch for €15. Highly recommend Odile's apartment.

Odile, Ivan and Artur (adorable Jack Russell) welcomed us into their home in Beynac. The apartment was situated at the top of the house and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Odile had forgotten nothing! The views from the windows were truly stunning and Beynac itself is a beautiful place to explore. We had access to a lovely patio area where we sat and had our lunch and drinks. The wedding we were attending was literally 5 minutes walk away...but then everywhere is close in Beynac. I would highly recommend staying with Odile - its so much better than a hotel

We had a wonderful stay in Beynac. Odile is a lovely host and the apartment has beautiful views over the Dordogne river. Beynac is a sleepy picture perfect town with lots to do in the surrounding villages. We spent lots of time canoeing and wondering around the villages. The apartment has everything you could need and feels quite luxurious. Very good value for money.

Fantastic place to stay in a vertical village. Perched on the side of a cliff, Odile's home is close to everything including several great restaurants. It is a bit of a walk up quaint ancient cobblestone narrow streets which invite you to linger longer on your walks. Great canoeing and bicycle rides in the area. Close to Font de Gaume and Lascaux. I am 69 and the walk up the hill is not difficult but very enjoyable as the views get better the higher you go.

Great location in medieval village, however there is a bit of a climb to the apartment. Oldile and Ivan are very friendly hosts and Arthur the dog is a character. Would recommend.

This accommodation is full of character and attention to detail, and in a lovely situation. Odile and her son were very helpful and took our luggage up and down the steep hill for us. There are a number of wooden steps to climb to access the apartment, but the view is well worth it. We would highly recommend it as a good homely option for those who are able to cope with the climbing.
