Our chalet-apartment is located in la Barboleusaz /Gryon, five kilometers from Villars sur Ollon,in the French speaking part of Switzerland in the Canton de Vaud. The Villars/Gryon area is famous for its excellent ski & mountain resorts. A breathtaking view of the Alps mountain range can be seen from our chalet. We are centrally located in the village of la Barboleusaz /Gryon and surrounded by all the facilities that you will need during your stay. Within 50 meters from the chalet you will find restaurants, a bakery (for fresh bread and croissants every morning!), a tearoom/coffee house, a supermarket, the tourism office, ski school, ski rental and shop, and the train station. A real plus to our location is that the cable car to the ski slopes is a short walk from the chalet. In addition, during the ski season you can ski from the mountaintop to the front entrance of the chalet. There is a private parking spot reserved for the chalet right at the entrance to the apartment building and there is plenty of public parking right in front of the building. Across from the chalet there is a mini golf course during the summer and a small ice skating ring during the winter. The chalet has a scenic balcony with view towards the Alps mountain range.
The chalet-apartment has a living room with two single beds, a bedroom with a double bed (1.40X2.00) and an attic with five mattresses. (If the attic is needed for your stay, you will need to bring your own sleeping bags to put on the mattresses.) In the cupboard there is a baby bed at your disposal. Cable TV and 25 Mb Internet connections are complimentary. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove top and oven, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, a small refrigerator and pots, pans, cooking and eating utensils.
There is also a bathroom with shower and bathtub and a separate toilet room. The chalet-apartment is fully furnished and very comfortable for four persons, but can hold up to nine people - good for a large family with children! The chalet-apartment is on the third and last floor of the building with no elevator. As you can see on the pictures the apartment has a mansard-roof. There is a storage room at the entrance level to store your skis and ski shoes (as climbing the stairs with ski shoes is not allowed).
The door key will wait for you in a safe-box by the door. The code for the safe will be provided to you upon booking. This allows you to enter the apartment at the time most suitable for you.

In winter, the ViIlars-Gryon-Diablerets-Glacier 3000 ski area boasts 125 km of trails between 1,300 and 3,000 meters of altitude and allows all snow sport enthusiasts to take full advantage of the very diverse ski area that offers a vast choice of trails for every level. The configuration of the ski area, as well as the various means of accessing the trails enable non-skiers to easily join skiers during the day.- In winter: All children under 9 years old ski for free.

The Liberty Pass for non-skiers enables them to take advantage of certain ski lifts (cog railway or gondola lifts) and other activities at a reasonable price. The Liberty Pass can be
bought for 1 day, 5 consecutive days and for the whole season.
When summer comes, all the magic of Alpine summer colours reappears. Flower-filled pastures, sunlit mountain peaks, rushing rivers and enchanted forests inspire a desire to share privileged moments and to enjoy nature to the fullest.
Over 300 km of walking and hiking trails and 50 km of mountain bike trails allow the discovery a captivating landscape and unspoilt nature with 3 high mountain lakes. An 18-hole golf course at an altitude of 1,600 metres allows lovers of the sport to play facing Mont-Blanc.
A swimming pool with an outdoor water slide, an ice-skating rink, tennis courts, mini-golf, a miniature train and paragliding flights are a few of the other activities that enhance stays for children and adults alike.

Since the resort’s situation is particularly interesting from a geological and natural point of view, numerous theme hikes are offered all summer long to discover true natural treasures, such as marine fossils or the very diverse Alpine fauna. The beauty of the landscape will never cease to amaze you and arouse very diverse emotions. To help you learn while having fun, educational trails on various themes have been created, such as the Sentier de la Pierre (the Rock Trail), the Sentier du Sel (the Salt Road), the Chemin de l’Eau (the Water Trail) and the Sentier des Renardeaux (the Fox Cub Trail) which is specially designed to introduce the forest to children.
The long history of the villages of Gryon and Ollon, which dates back to the 12th century for Gryon, also allows culture aficionados to learn about old villages and their history thanks to History Walks.

The Salt Mines of Bex, with over 50 km of galleries, wells, stairs, and rooms, have been in operation since 1684 and produce a large part of the salt consumed in Switzerland.
