About this listing
Spacious, quiet, comfortable and bright! A perfect base for exploring Florence, a few steps from the center but in a quiet area out off the beaten track, where you can still appreciate the authentic flavor of the city and its inhabitants. Perfect for big families with three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and a big living area!
This large bright apartment is on the 3rd floor with elevator of an old Renaissance's building. It has recently been renovated, added new furnitures and furnishings.
My mother is a great interior designer, so everything that was done here has been designed by her. We didn’t change much of the original structure of the house. We only divided the space inside in order to make three big bedrooms, two comfortable bathrooms with shower and a large open space for the kitchen and the living area.
She decided to use a lot of vintage furniture. So we went all over Italy looking for armchairs, tables, lamps, abat-jours, wardrobes etc. Then there are armchairs, sofas, cupboards and tables from the 50’s and the 60’s that we bought and restored.
I think her major ability was keeping a really good balance between the look of the contemporary architecture and furniture, the refined antiques and the touch of the warm and historic building.
Ceilings are high and windows are really big, so there is a lot of natural light during the day with beautiful views on the Florence's roofs.
There are also antique hardwood floors throughout the house, so it's very nice to stay without shoes. :)
The kitchen is very functional with oven, microwave, dishwasher and a large fridge at guests' disposal. We provide essential things like water, coffee, sugar and fruits..
One of the three bedrooms has an ensuite big bathroom and a large double bed. This is the quietest room in the house because there are no roads under its double-glazed windows. During the night seems to be away from the city!
The other two bedrooms are also spacious with new comfortable double beds. One of this has a loft made during the last renovation in order to take full advantage of the large space. In this bedroom there is also a sofa bed that can be opened when the guests are more than six.
Unfortunately, I have to use a sentence which is really overused by all the hoteliers but... all of my guests, when they sign our guest book write that it is really like being home away from home.
The place is very welcoming and homey at the same time.
So that’s the essence; it’s elegant but very informal. Everybody feels like at home.
The house is located in a strategic position in the heart of Florence, few steps far from Piazza Santo Spirito, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio and the Boboli Garden, in a limited traffic area and generally sheltered from the noise of the city.
Interaction with guests
I prefer an informal relation with my guests. I try to call everybody by name, and I'm very friendly. Just as if they were friends of friends coming to my house. I want to share my insight of the city and the areas which are less touristic with them. And they really appreciate this. I won't be present in the house but always at your disposal to answer any questions you might have.

I'm 32 and I was born in Siena, a small medieval town 60km from Florence. I have two great apartments, in the centre of Florence, available as the entire place for up to seven guests. I do not stay when guests are staying - you have the whole apartment to yourselves. I manage also two other small apartments of my parents in the centre of Siena and Follonica.
I have traveled extensively in Italy, Europe, North America and Asia, including staying in Airbnb homes so I really know what makes for a good stay. It's both a pleasure and an honour to have folks stay at my place, especially international guests who are traveling around this lovely country.
I'm interested in plants, historic gardens and nature. I love to stay outside, rowing on the Arno, cycling in the countryside around Siena and swimming at sea.
I love to be an host, I thought that doing this the world would come travelling to me, which is almost like seeing the world. Another thing was, Florence is a very busy city with a lot of people from abroad, but it’s really hard for us locals to get to know these people. The Florentines like to have separate lives from the tourists. For me it’s the opposite. I want to get in touch with these foreigners coming to Florence. And now I have the chance to get to know them. So that’s is my way of sharing Florence with the world!
