About this listing

GLAMorous Camping-Fiesta Romantic! Snuggle under the stars by the fire in this secluded beautiful spot. You can plug in or ignore for an off the grid experience. Preferable to settle in before dark so we can bellhop your gear, otherwise it is fine to make your own way following solar lights up the hill. We offer catering for a no-fuss stay. There is plenty of private area to set up tents on this site to accommodate additional guests. This is 1 of 4 Mountain Fiesta Airbnb listings.

The space

*Note* Sorry no pets in the yurt unless they are considered as additional guests @$10 per night. We do allow pets to stay for free in our Mountain Fiesta Barn & Casa GLAMping listings.
LET YOUR MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE BEGIN! Yurt parking is on the left just after pulling in our driveway at our mailbox next to the metal potting shed. There is room for 2 vehicles there. The yurt is located up the driveway past the barn on the left and the gothic chicken coop and the log sided goat house on the right - on a solar lit foot path up a short steep hill behind our farm house, not accessible by car. Communicating and coordinating your arrival time is important if you would like assistance to the yurt with your gear. *IMPORTANT* If arriving in the evening after dark, we may not be available to assist you to the yurt. Solar lights on the goat fence will mark your path up to the yurt. We will meet you in the morning, as we are early birds. *NOTE*-if we have had many days of rain in a row, the path to the yurt can be a slippery slope to navigate with the "Bellhop Husky" and we may have to help you up by foot. "You can't enjoy the view without the climb."
Snuggle under the stars in front of a romantic fire. Cook for yourself on a charcoal grill or arrange catering for a stay-put no fuss stay. We just added electricity for your GLAMping comfort with a fan and space heater, dresser lamp and coffee maker (we supply our own special Mountain Fiesta blend) or just ignore it because off the grid seclusion can be just what the doctor ordered....great way to reconnect. There are two small battery powered lanterns in the yurt and tiki torches and solar sticks to light the area outside. Headlamps/Umbrellas are a great idea to bring with you.
Our yurt is a Mother Nature lover's getaway, boasting a beautiful view, romantic queen bed, dining table and chairs, candles, skylight, picnic table, grill, firepit, 2 camp chairs, tiki torches. Full moon evenings are amazing here! You can forage for firewood (we have an ax & saw in the metal storage cupboard in the yurt) or buy dry cut wood from us.
We have a modern bathhouse/shower in front of the barn right near where you parked, and for your convenience, just outside the yurt, a brand new outhouse is also available.
We can have chilly nights here. Even though I feel we have covered the comfy cozy department, if you are cold natured, you might want to come prepared. We have bath towels for you.
We do have a water vessel filled with our own spring water in the yurt for drinking and a wash tub just outside the outhouse.
We also have 2 OTHER Mountain Fiesta Glamping listings on Airbnb. Check them out too. Great for a family compound.
The yurt is canvas so FYI, it can become saturated when we have prolonged downpours and there could be leaking to manage. In the three years we have had guests staying in the yurt this has only been an issue 3x. I will give you a little tutorial about the windows and screens which zip and velcro.

Guest access

PLEASE PRINT & refer to our detailed directions provided on our Airbnb Airbnb location page and our Mountain Fiesta website , as cell service is spotty and GPS has misdirected some of our guests. We have a Verizon cell booster at our house, so if you have Verizon service you are in luck to make a call from our deck or our front porch. We ask for privacy on the porch after 9pm unless of course there is a compelling reason. For emergencies, you could also use our house phone. Closest possibility for service for other cell providers is 3m from the barn.

NOTE
Unplugging is great for your health!

GROCERY/LIBATION SHOP BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. JAL "Just About Love" Lookout Yurt is located at our event venue, Mountain Fiesta.
You can walk our meandering gardens.
If unoccupied, Casa Viva, overlooking the creek, has a very inviting porch and it is a wonderful place to hang out when it is raining to read, play cards, have a glass of wine or just listen to the rain on the tin roof. Across the road from Casa Viva is fire pit for your use ( if we do not have creekside camping guests) and you and your pets can refresh and you can get your feet wet in the creek. As well, if the barn is unoccupied enjoy a movie or ping pong or take a nap in the hammocks. At the very least give a peek in the barn in case you or someone you know are planning an event or celebration, it is a beautiful rustic party space.
If you are a musician and would like an audience, let me know and that can be arranged.

Interaction with guests

Please let us know when you plan to arrive so we will be on point to greet you and plan the flow of our day. All 4 of our dogs are friendly. Elsa the Border Collie and LaLa, our lab mix will no doubt greet you first. Elsa will probably have her flying squirrel ready for a new play partner. LaLa, little Tucker and Vincent are our police officers, but all talk.
We will openly communicate with you to make sure your needs are met, without interfering with your privacy.
Mountain Fiesta's own Chef Mo & Brenda Jane can prepare breakfast or dinner . . . let us know if you are interested in our menu or we can create a custom menu, or you can visit him just down the road at the Trust General Store and Cafe.
You can order on Airbnb or talk directly with Chef Mo. Please contact us as soon as you can about catering as we may not be able to honor last minute requests because of our distance from the grocery store. All catered meals are served from our house, at a mutually agreed upon time, or you have many options for places to dine on the property. A few "camp store" items- charcoal & cut firewood bundles and sometimes drinks are available.
If you need anything, do not hesitate to knock on our porch door. Leave us a note/text if we are out.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Moutain Fiesta Yurt and had an incredible time! It is very clean and safe. We chose to have Chef Mo cater our stay which was the best option for us. The food was delicious and totally worth it! I was super surprised at how nice and clean the outhouse and the showers were. We will definitely be back!!

We rented close to the entire compound. I wish my writing skills were up to explaining what a magical week Brenda and Mo provided my extended family. This will have to do. Each of the rental units (Yurt ,Barn and Casa) was wonderful in and of itself and all together made an ideal venue for a large family retreat (including family members with a wide range of interests, physical abilities and needs). Our stay was completely unplanned. For 50 plus years my wife's family has gathered in August in the Outer Banks. This year we rented 4 houses in Hatteras. Only after family arrived in Virginia/North Carolina from Florida, Washington State, and elsewhere were we informed that Hatteras was being evacuated for a power outage. Nothing was available anywhere near the coast and we needed room for 30, for a week, and fast. Brenda couldn't have been more responsive or accommodating. She was extraordinarily helpful and flexible in getting us in and allowing adjustments to her normal procedures to meet the unplanned (on both sides) descent of the hordes. Both she and Mo were unfailingly gracious and helpful throughout our stay. In retrospect the amazing thing is that Fiesta-Ville (as the kids came to call it) was available. People come to the mountains of North Carolina during the summer for good reasons-and Clampertown (as some of the other kids named it ) offers it all. Cool, clear mountain air-with enough evening chill to make campfires enjoyable. Great views from, and beautiful scenery within, the property. (Any gardeners/plant folk are in for a treat). Nearby swimming holes as well as hikes and river adventures of all degrees of difficulty and excitement. Asheville (a 50 minute beautiful drive away) with great restaurants and shopping. The Casa was "food central". It has a wide porch where all of us could easily gather for meals. The kitchen was well equipped and we had no difficulty feeding 30 or so people 3 meals a day. The Casa has a queen and twin bed in the loft, a queen bed in the main/indoor gathering room and cots. We used it to sleep 6 and there was ample room. (There is no real privacy. I am generally very much a "need my own space" guy but my wife and I opted for the bed in the middle of everything as the walk to the Yurt was too much for her ankle and I spend 90% of my time grocery shopping or cooking and will always opt for the bed nearest the kitchen. We designated the Casa as eating/conversation/early quiet space and the barn as loud/music/game/kids space and everyone's needs were met.) The Yurt is the place for privacy. Perfect for a couple, or even a couple with a few kids. It is a bit of a steep walk if you are somewhat out of shape but all but one of us made it up there to enjoy the view and catch a moment away from the kids....

Brenda is such a wonderful person. The first day we got to explore the area and she gave us a tour of her little compound. Boy is it beautiful mountain living. After that it was two days of secluded and unplugged paradise. Enjoy as much as we did!

Incredible location. Depends on what you're looking for though! Brenda & Mo prepared the space so intentionally and have certainly had years of experience with hospitality and organizing a stay. We stayed in their well-crafted modern yurt which is nested in the hillside in absolutely beautiful land. The yurt is so well-equipped and offered much more for comfort and had a certain crafted personality than I was expecting. We only stayed one night and were somewhat short on time the next morning to interact, but they both were so open to welcoming us to their home and the surrounding area, sharing with us what they seek to do with their space, and were just so giving. It's clearly a dream that has been realized for them and something they've worked hard at for years. I would love to return for a longer stay in the future!
