Croft House is one of three accommodation options available on Leob Croft, our organic 30 acre croft set on the shores of beautiful Loch Scridain. Refresh yourself, body and soul, in this peaceful, unspoiled landscape.

The space

Croft House is a traditional stone house - historically the main house - with the addition of a timber extension at the front and a glorious conservatory at the back that catches the sun for much of the day.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, one twin room and one with a low double bed, to accommodate the low ceiling. The twin room has a balcony with stunning views of the Burg, Staffa and the sea beyond.

Downstairs is a kitchen/dining room with an electric cooker and a wood fuelled rayburn. There is a sitting room with wood burning stove and an additional single bedroom.

It is suitable for up to 5 people.

Decoration is simple with unpolished wooden floors and wood panelling in many of the rooms.

We use only 100% cotton sheets.

There is no TV and patchy mobile phone reception, meaning ample opportunity for relaxation.

Guest access

You are welcome to stroll around the croft. We have pasture, woodland, wetland and access to the shore line. Feel free to say hello to Stella, the cow, and Everette the donkey. We also have chickens and grow our own organic vegetable and fruit.
Occasionally in the summer you can buy our homemade jams at the top of the drive on the main road - if there are any left!

Interaction with guests

We get pleasure from people who enjoy staying here and enjoying the peaceful and unspoiled surroundings. We feel that it is important to respect people's privacy but at the same time we are particularly keen to meet people who share our wide interests which include a spiritual quest and a love of the natural world. We ourselves our anthroposophists which is Christian and based on the work of Rudolf Steiner. My wife Ann has Parkinson disease and in the absence of any therapists near to hand we have developed our own therapeutic exercises including rhythmic work, eurythmy and singing. If there was any interest I would open to explore this further.

Other things to note

Please ensure that you plan your journey, in particular the ferry crossing from Oban to Craignure. Ferries do not run until late every day. You may need to book.

The location to Bunessan worked very well for our journey around Fionnport, Iona and Staffa. The views were excellent and the friendly atmosphere of the house was welcome. Thank you.

Spending our days on the isle of mull in Jonathans Croft house was a wonderful experience. The House is very comfortable and you really feel at home when you come back from exploring the island. I really liked the fact that there is no tv and no wlan so that you can focus on the beautiful nature, yourself and the people who stay with you :) The pictures shown on Airbnb do not represent the atmosphere very good, the croft house looks way better in real life you have a very nice view of the sea.

Had a great time at the croft. Kitchen is lovely and great for meals and talking round the table. Lots of books and board games to use. Quiet location and very much a place to go to for relaxing. Some great walks and beaches on the doorstep or a short drive away. The croft has a real rustic and period charm to it, though also spotless and has everything you need (including a cafetière!) Sometimes if a place is 'rustic' it can be a little scruffy, this isn't the case here. So just bring food (and drink) for your stay and kick back. Super comfy beds too! Everything on Mull is via a single track road with passing places so allow a little time to get around! Although there were only two of us at the Croft Im sure 5 would fit well and not be crowded. Lovely place.

Leob croft and the surrounding land of Jonathan and Anne has one of the most stunning views in Mull. The Croft is comfortably equipped in a country style, with a lovely farmhouse style kitchen at its heart. It proved ideal for our family of 5 to spread ourselves out and have both communal and quiet spaces to relax in. In the evening one can warm oneself round the delightful coal burning stove. Mull is a beautiful island and one we will return to again.

Beautiful setting and perfect for exploring the area. The croft was clean and comfortable. Jonathan was very helpful and left useful information about the local beaches and places to eat. Ardalanish beach was particularly beautiful.

Nice holyday on Mull, Jonathan was a pleasant host. The house is cozy and makes you feel at home. Like it is specified in the description there is no wifi which makes you even more appreciate your stay.
