Our comfortable two bedroom cottage is situated on the Tweed River with views to Mt Warning. It is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac in the town of Murwillumbah and set in a picturesque valley just a short drive from the Tweed and Gold Coasts.

The space

We are within walking distance to the shopping centre, cafes, pubs and clubs of Murwillumbah, Greenhills Function Centre and the Tweed Regional Art Gallery with the Margaret Olley Centre and cafe. There are many attractions in and surrounding the town including the heritage listed national parks of Mount Warning and the Border Ranges. We are 45 minutes drive from Byron Bay, 30 mins from the Gold Coast and 15 mins from the Tweed Coast beaches. We are approximately 2 hours south of Brisbane and the Gold Coast airport is a 25 mins drive.

Our cottage has two bedrooms both with queen size beds and ceiling fans and can comfortably sleep four people. There is one bathroom. We do not allow children under the age of 12 years.

Guest access

The cottage is fully self contained with two bedrooms each with a Queen size bed including bedlinen, a bathroom including towels, a separate living room with plasma TV and sound system, dining room and kitchen which is equipped with oven, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans. There is a laundry with a washing machine. A variety of tea & coffee along with milk & sugar are supplied and also juice and cereal to get guests started.

The cottage is adjoined by an enclosed walkway/room to a modern extension where my husband and I live and this area will not be shared with guests.

We love staying at Maureen and Peters beautiful Cottage. The cottage is always spotless, beautifully furnished and is just like our home away from home. We really love finding milk, juice, crossiants, jams and grapes in the fridge. Not forgetting to mention the supplies in cupboard as well. So peaceful sitting on the deck taking in the beautiful view. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Our stay at Maureen's really exceeded our expectations. The property is set on a beautiful spot in the Tweed Valley overlooking views of the river and mountains and was wonderful looking at the view while eating breakfast after a morning swim in the pool! Maureen and Peter were extremely helpful and friendly hosts. The little extras including chocolates, fruit and freshly cut flowers were nice touches in an already immaculate home. Thank you!!

Maureen and Peter were wonderful. Very welcoming and ready to help with anything we needed. The accommodation was wonderful with chocolates on the beds a welcoming touch. Situated right on the Tweed River in a peaceful part of town, we felt (EMAIL HIDDEN)fy beds, amazing shower and a wonderful mix of old Queenslander styling with modern amenities. Close enough to walk to town in a peaceful neighbourhood. Perfect for a country getaway.

My husband Peter and I are semi retired. We enjoy living in Murwillumbah and particularly on the Tweed River where we enjoy the views and ambience. Our interests include walking, swimming, kayaking on the river and gardening. We like reading, listening to music, going to the cinema and visiting the local art gallery.

We love travelling and experiencing different cultures. We like travelling independently as opposed to organised tours. Among our favourite destinations are New York City, the Greek Islands, mainly Santorini and Crete and Duma Tau safari camp in Botswana. Other countries that stand out are Turkey, Mexico and Peru. One of our favourite holidays was travelling around the UK and Europe in the late seventies in a camper van with our two young children.
