The space
If you are looking for a place that combines the charm of the old city with safety and convenience then this may be your place.

My house, from 1901, is a fully renovated oasis in one of nicest neighborhoods in Montevideo.

During the renovation I tried to maintain as many of the original details while sculpting a modern space.
The result is a very unique home that offers more than a place to stay, providing very spacious, comfortable, and clean bedrooms.
The rooms have a desk, refrigerator, microwave, TV, and WiFi access.

The room face out to a Spanish style courtyard with a small pool for hot days use, outdoor Asado (barbeque), and places for resting and dining. During the renovation I also discovered a hidden cellar, which had not been used since 1910.

I converted this subterranean treasure into an intimate entertainment and performance space with a screening area for which I salvaged cinema benches from one of Montevideos´s oldest cinemas.

Films are shown in this space and it is also where artists sometimes come to perform and present their work. I can make arrangements for you to use this space were you to wish for it. We also offer other services for a nominal fee such as breakfast, laundry, and a well-stocked mini-bar.

Outside of the house you will find a charming neighborhood that is a far cry from the high-rise neighborhoods surrounding some of the beaches here.

We are an eclectic, slightly Bohemian neighborhood with tree-lined streets and small architectural gems in unexpected places. Within close proximity to the house we have a supermarket, several bars and clubs, and restaurants where you can eat local foods with the friendly locals at local prices.

Beyond the close proximity of our neighborhood you’ll find quick access to Parque Rodó and its amusement park, which is right next to Playa Ramirez.

Many of our guests enjoy exploring Montevideo by foot from our house, but if that is not an option we are close to some of the main public transportation arteries in town. A short bus ride will take you to the Old City (Ciudad Vieja) or to Pocitos.

We are looking forward to opening our gates to you, and to show you an architects dream in a city that prides itself on treating its guests as family.

Available daily, weekly, monthly

Other things to note
I would like to add that the bathroom is shared with other guest from another room. Anyway it will not be a problem for anyone as the bathroom is well equiped (shower, WC, tap, bidet) and also checked everyday to make sure everything is fine.

I love architecture, music and any cultural expression, also to travel and sharing experiences with people all over the world. I'm interest and informed about economy, politics, history, philosophy, general knowledge, films, football and arts. I love to give all this information about Montevide and Uruguay to all the foreigners that arrive to my house and also exchange different points of view.
