Francesca is delightful and very helpful. Her apartment is an ideal location and she gave us a fine orientation. Apartment was very clean, well furnished and quiet, which allowed restful recovery from Rome adventures.

Francesca was a great host, she was very flexible about my arrival time and was there to greet me when I arrived and made some really great recommendations for my stay, including a pizza delivery place, which really was excellent! The apartment is about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican, close enough to be convenient, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. I'd recommend Danesi coffee and La Zanzara. The place is small but very well finished, and was immaculately clean and fresh, with everything you need, and is in a beautiful old apartment building. Only things to be aware of: the washer-dryer was useless, so I wouldn't plan on doing laundry, and the mattress was a bit basic (ok for a week) but apart from that, I'd highly recommend!

We were welcomed as expected and everything was working clean and fine

Francesca's apartment is in a pleasant area with grocery stores and restaurants nearby. It was easy to get the Vatican and a short walk to the nearby subway station. While we had a good time in Rome there were a few frustrating things with the apartment. - The washing machine door continually opened while we were trying to do laundry. We asked Francesca and her mother for help but they weren't able to fix it during our stay. A frustrating experience to do a simple load of laundry. And the amenities clearly stated washer and dryer. - The stove was gas but the pilot lights needed to be replaced as they would not ignite the gas. There were matches available but the stove was still difficult to light and took 4-6 matches before the gas flame would stay lit. - Francesca's mom pointed out the air conditioner/ heating unit on the wall. However, the remote control to use it was not to be found. - Finally the water (or the pipes) were another issue. The water contained really large amounts of a mineral (possibly calcium) that we had to scrape off when we boiled water. The electric tea kettle heating element was coated in the white mineral and the kettle was unusable. We started filling up water bottles from the outside public fountains in Rome and using it in the apartment as the public water was so much cleaner than what was in the apartment We don't expect a five star hotel when we use Airbnb. We are prepared to stay in someone's home or a furnished apartment. But we do expect that things in the apartment aren't broken. Because things were not well maintained this place felt more like a source of income for the owner. We hope the owner takes this feedback positively and addresses these items for the next guest. The apartment is in a great location and just needs a bit of maintenance. Francesca's mother was very kind meeting us and settling us into the apartment.

Response from Francesca Maria:
I just want to write that host have to be really aware of city and country they go. Water in Rome is very rich of calcium and this is a big problem wherever you go in the city. For the laundry machine there is a BIG manual with instructions that you can read and explains how it works, including the way how to leave the door shut. It is a very complex and delicate machine and I'm sorry I was not there to explain them how it works. For what it concern the gas stove: in Italy almost all stove are still working with gas and I understand that can be frustrating for other people form other countries. I have lived in the States and I know how it works. But italians cook with gas and most of the time you have to use a match or lighter to light the fire!! The AC is on request, and you should have asked for it or at least email to me instead of writing all at this point after your staying. The water outside in the fountain is the same water that comes form the sink in the apartment! I will buy new kettle, for the water in rome you have to but a new one each 3-4 months! Next time you problems regarding the apartment please write as soon as you can and I am sure that anyone of my family would be more than happy to help you!! Thank you anyways for your feedback I will check personally on this once I am back in Italy in few days.

The apartment is exactly how it is described, great style! Francescas sister welcomed us and gave us good tips for our stay. We felt very comfortable because the place is very quiet. After walking the whole day I was very happy that the house has a lift. I would definitely come back to this place!

Beautiful flat near to the Vatican ! Perfect for 2 people, cozy, and you can't find a better location ! 10mn to Vatican by foot, 15mn to Villa Borghese by subway,... Real central location ! Nice neighbour also, very calm and safe. You can find near pizzerias (special mention to Pizza Popeye - Via della Giuliana, 55- 2mn by foot from the flat), and also bakery (Dolce Maniera - Via Barletta, 27 - the best quality/price i ever seen 10mn by foot) and restaurants (Fantastic ice cream : Lemongrass Gelato @10mn by foot / Amalfi, very nice restaurant Via dei Gracchi, 12 ). The flat is well decorated, we liked it a lot my girlfriend and i. The perfect place to discover Roma. Very close to subway and bus ! i recommand it 1000 times. The host is very reactive, and do his best to make sure you are in the best conditions. Thanks a lot Francesca, next time we come to Roma we'll coma again :)
