The Magic House is brilliantly located in the Medieval City in a quiet residential backstreet away from the major tourist bustle but close enough to access all the facilities of both Old and New Town Rhodes. The ports are accessible by foot in less than 15 minutes whilst all the Old Town facilities can be accessed within ten minute walking. The access to local bars and restaurants was good and future guests should take advantage of the excellent advice of Heidi which proved invaluable. The house is well equipped for those, like us, who like to self cater. A well hosted well provided service. We particularly enjoyed the Walk Inn bar and restaurant for informal drinks, food and live music at weekends. The Marco Polo Cafe is despite the name a restaurant of near Michelin Star standards and reasonably priced . Both venues are within a 5 minute walk of the Magic House. Potential guests should be aware that the steps down to the bedroom and up to the terrace are quite narrow and require some agility. Also the main Queen sizes bed whilst incredibly comfortable, is five foot above the floor and accessed by steps without a rail. In all a brilliant place to stay but not for those with limited mobility or for young children.

Perfect for a couple who would like to stay within Rhodes Old Town. It is located in a quiet area, while being minutes from the sights, shops and restaurants (very busy). Convenient walk to new town restaurants and Acropolis, about 15, maybe 20 minutes. It was like staying at someone's home with antique furnishings, kitchen with cooking and eating utensils, plenty of linens and hair dryer. No new toiletries were provided even though there were some partially full items like shower gel and hand soap. There was a washing machine that was very useful. There were two sets of door keys along with emergency ones. The bookcase was full of many books in different languages. Sunny and shady terrace for sitting outside and upstairs area for relaxing and yoga practice. We kept place clean and took out garbage (outside bins) since no one cleaned while we were there. It was fantastic to return to and hang out when we were tired of being tourists. Need to manage narrow stairs to the upstairs and downstairs rooms including a stepladder for the loft bed. Plenty of outlets and light switches. Wifi worked, no TV. Supermarket and bakery within minutes. Heidi greeted and led us to the house. This was necessary since it would have been difficult to find it without help. It is located near San Francisco Gate (St. Francis of Assisi Church) that is not on any map. The locals know it though which is why our taxi driver dropped us there without questions. It is a great entry Gate, much less congested than all the others. The street name is not prominent and is circular so Heidi was a godsend. Heidi was available very easily by phone and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). We stayed 10 nights, too long unless you take a couple of day boat trips. We rented a car for daily trips around the Island and it was easy to park near San Francisco Gate. Major complaint regarding Old Town is that motorcyclists drive by every few minutes so we were constantly looking over our shoulders along with all the other tourists. We were there late September, early October.

If you have any qualms about lots of tourists or noise, no worries, this home is off the tourist track on a quiet alley way. It was so nice to be in the old town and Heidi gave us lots of suggestions for food shops, breakfast and dinner places and things to see and do. The beds were comfortable and as we were there in September, it wasn't hot at night but there was a fan in case. We used the washing machine and hung dry our clothes on the terrace which dried in a couple hours. Read the guest book, there are lots of suggestions in there as well. Heidi was very accommodating as our flight came in late. Many thanks!

We loved everything about Renata's place. The location was perfectly situated in a very quiet neighborhood just minutes from the cafes and shops , and a few more to the sites and the sea. The top balcony was built to chill with a book or with a bottle of Ouzo (or both) Heidi was a very kind and helpful hostess.

We visited Renata's place in mid August and we had a blast! She and Heidi were lovely and gave us a lot of useful information. In fact I don't think I've met a friendlier host! About the house: Pros: In a great location. It's located in the old town (the best place to be in Rhodes) but away from all the noisy tourist spots. Great balcony, ideal for breakfast and late night drinks. Comfortable bed. Had everything we needed (we didn't bring any sunscreen but we found one in the house) And again the friendlier hosts you will ever see. We wanted an extra fan and Heidi brought one as soon as we asked her. Cons: The house didn't have inside doors so there was a slight privacy problem (we were 4 people in the house) The bathroom door didn't close all the way so again a privacy issue. Overall great value. Would definitely go again if we visit Rhodes. Recommend it 100%!

We had a wonderful stay at Renatas house. Her friend Heidi welcomed us and gave us good information about the house and area. The house is well equiped and very cozy with a great balcony where we spend the mornings drinking coffee and nights enjoying the peace and quiet. The house is situated close to everything, but still you can not hear the comotion of a busy night-life. I highly recommend the house to anyone visiting Rhodes ️❤️.
