The shelves, cabinets and a bathroom board wall were constructed from cypress beams and siding salvaged from the original garage.

Interaction with guests
Hosts live in the main house on the property, a 1912 bungalow, and are available for anything guests may desire. We respect our guests privacy. Studio Ste. Marie is a separate building from the main house, & has its own private entrance, although we share the garden. We have lived here since 1994, and are New Orleans natives. We know just about everything there is to know about our beautiful New Orleans, and are ready to share our knowledge. However, if guests prefer minimum interaction, we offer the highest discretion.
Other things to note
Our guests rave about their stay at Studio Ste Marie. The cottage is filled with light. It is said to have a healing and spiritual atmosphere. It is perfect for engaging in creative work and thinking, or just relaxing.

We expect our guests to be respectful of our neighbors and neighborhood. Although New Orleans has a reputation for wild partying, those in the know understand that we are circumspect in our revelry. We expect our guests to be so too.
I am an artist, both graphic designer and a guitarist. I have also managed the Music Office Co-Op for the Tipitina's Foundation here in New Orleans since 2004. I love art, philosophy, both big and small ideas, small animals (I have two tabby cats, one orange and one light gray), playing live music (most of all Chicago blues and related "Roots"music), and especially my friends and my home. I've lived in New Orleans since 1983, and here in my home in beautiful Faubourg St. John since 1995. I'm recently widowed, but my wife Patricia's spirit and sense of fun and beauty lives on, here in our home.
