A lovely 2 bedroom cottage on our farm, 6 miles from Naas, gives you all the charm of the countryside within reach of town. Enjoy a comfy lounge with wood-burning stove, bright sunroom overlooking a spacious garden and breakfast on eggs from our hens. Longer term stays considered.

The space

The cottage is set in its own garden, surrounded on 2 sides by fields. You can pop over the fence in the morning to collect fresh eggs for your breakfast from our flock of hens, ducks, geese and turkeys. In the right season you can snack on raspberries, loganberries, white and red currants, gooseberries, apples and pears all of which grow at the edge of your garden. Or if you prefer you can relax with a book in the warmth of the comfortable sunroom and watch the beautiful sunsets and the mists rising over the fields.

Indoors there are 2 bedrooms one has a double and a single bed, and the other has a king, there is also a spare mattress should you need it, we can also provide a cot and high chair. There is a bathroom equipped with shower, toilet, sink and a washing machine and tumble drier. The lounge has a cosy wood burning stove, (for which we will provide firewood in the winter) comfortable leather sofa and chairs and a small dining table and chairs. It also has a TV with free view. The kitchen is equipped with oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, there is a small chest freezer in the utility room. The sunroom has a table and chairs and sofa and arm chairs and looks out onto the garden. A small utility room houses the oil fired boiler and freezer and has plenty of space for dirty walking boots/ bikes and hooks to dry out wet clothing.

The garden is private and is a gorgeous sun trap, you can sit out, close your eyes and listen to the rustle of the poplar trees in the breeze and hear the odd quack of a duck or cluck of a hen and forget all about the hustle and bustle of life! It is a great space for BBQ's sunbathing or for children to play in.

Despite its rural surroundings we are only 6 miles from Naas or Newbrige and 40 minutes from Dublin. Our closest town, Kilcullen is just 2 miles away.

We are right in the heart of horse racing country, with punchestown and the curragh right beside us, and the National Stud in Kildare only 20 mins away. We also have stables which are available for use, should you wish to bring your horse (contact us for prices). We have rathsallagh beside us with its golf course and fine dining, and we are 30 mins from the k-club.

For food the award winning Ballymore Inn and The Brown Bear are minutes away and there are plenty of places to choose from between Kilcullen, Naas and Newbridge.

You will have access to the whole cottage and it's garden, if you would like a tour of the farm please ask us, we would be happy to show you around and let you know where you can walk, but for safety reasons please check with us first.

We live in the main farmhouse next door to the cottage and so we are on hand should you need anything, from ideas on where to visit or eat out to supplying that jug of milk should you accidentally run out!

We are in a lovely quiet, rural location, but still only 6 miles from 2 good sized towns, Naas and Newbridge, and only 2 miles from Kilcullen which has all your essential amenities.

You will need a car to stay with us, there are good bus links from the airport to Naas, and from Dublin to Naas and Newbridge by bus or train. But to get out to us and get around the area a car is essential.

Hannah's cottage is a perfect hideaway if you're in need of some peace and quiet. Everything you need is in the cottage. We were treated to a delicious first breakfast, and Hannah took the time to walk us around her sheep farm. Would definitely recommend !

Group of five of us staying here, all from London. Absolutely amazing place - much better than the photos (which look nice anyway) and the family are incredibly accommodating. The farm is very charming and the cottage itself was somewhere we always looked forward to coming back to at the end of the day. The view of the sky from the cottage is bright and starry and looks huge in the night time (which was a nice sight for us Londoners) and the place feels like home straight away: great wood fire, comfortable beds, overlooking green fields. We will be back for sure!

About Hannah

I am married to David and we have 3 small children, Eva, Emma and Abi. We live on a working beef and sheep farm. I work part time as a Chartered Physiotherapist, to pay the bills! But I also keep and breed chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys and occasionally pigs!! I love the outdoors and can be found on the farm or in the garden whenever possible. We also have a Collie called Nell who lives on the farm.
