This elegant little flat is on the top floor of a listed Georgian conversion in Bloomsbury, making it bright, quiet and very, very central - 5 minutes walk from Euston and Kings Cross.
It has a comfortable double bed, power shower, and fast broadband.
The thing that guests say most often is that the location is amazing! Despite being in central London, this flat, with its solid wood floors, comfortable bed, high thread count sheets and well equipped kitchen, including a washer/dryer and microwave, provides a peaceful sanctuary after a busy day in the city. It is situated in a quiet Georgian cul de sac, so traffic noise is at a minimum. Often the first thing you hear in the morning is birdsong. Things people don't like so much? Well, its up three flights of stairs and there's no lift, and one person has complained that the entrance hall and communal parts of the building are a bit tired, which is true, but a common issue in Europe. Also the sofa is a bit tired and needs replacing and a new one is on order - you might be lucky and get to stay when the new one arrives!
You will have the whole flat to yourself except for one cupboard by the front door. Make yourselves at home. Help yourselves to tea, coffee, whatever is in the fridge. There is olive oil, pasta and tomato sauce - feel free.
Interaction with guests
I'm happy to provide advice or help but also happy to leave you in peace. Whatever works!
Other things to note
Please note it is on the third floor, which is partly what makes it bright and quiet!
No smokers please. Also this is a quiet area and the neighbours respect this, so no loud music or entertaining. Please remove your shoes. Try to leave it as you found it.
I will make every effort to meet you for check in at the specified time. Things can go wrong when travelling so if you are going to be delayed, please warn me, as a courtesy, as soon as possible. If you are delayed for more than two hours, you may incur an extra charge of £50.00 if I have to make alternative arrangements for check in, but as I say, if I can be flexible, I will.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
Hi, London is my home city and I love it! What do I love about it? I love its history, the beauty of its architecture, the grand, disciplined geometry of its centres of power, the peaceful garden squares, the quirky galleries, the funky, scrappy immigrant areas with their strange and wonderful foodstuffs and music, but most of all, its size, the fact that it is inhabited by eight million people and that creates a substrate or culture medium that allows all sorts of fabulous art, science, ideas, and human diversity to flourish. There is such a variety of things to see and do. I'm a doctor, writer and academic and can be found mostly in the city's stunning libraries. I love the museums, galleries and theatre spaces so any info you need - I'd love to help.
I bought my flat over a decade ago as an investment, but did not live in it until two years ago, when my life changed. It was then that I fell in love with it, for all the reasons that appear in guest reviews. Sharing it on Airbnb means that I have met some fabulous, interesting, warm and lovely people, and I have enjoyed providing for them a little haven of peace to retreat to in my city.
And that has helped me to feel braver about travelling on my own again. There is nothing more soul soothing for the natural nomad, than to sling a small bag over your shoulder and just go. And meeting all my lovely guests has reassured me that, in fact, the world is full of lovely, kind and interesting people. All I need to do is to get out there and find them, introduce myself and sit down at their kitchen table and wait for friendship to blossom...
