Our executive home has 1 queen and 1 twin bedroom, separate bathroom and toilet, kitchenette facilities, and a sitting room area, with off-street parking. 2 minutes from SH1. Freeview, Netflix, wifi.

We offer a quiet setting, comfy beds, and continental breakfast or BYO.

Sleeps 2 per night for Queen room, 2 in the twin room - please enquire. Max 4 guests per night.

Ideal stopover spot for ferry travellers.

The space
Our home is fresh and clean, with modern décor, and a semi-rural setting. We’re easy to find and there’s plenty of off-street parking. You'll be sharing our home with us - it is NOT separate accommodation.

Our queen room has modern décor, with a queen bed with fresh linen, side tables, a lamp and with a wall-mounted TV with Freeview and Netflix. Chairs and a small table let you spread out and you could use your laptop there.

There’s also a double wardrobe with shelves for clothing and storage, and a mirror. The room also has an HRV vent for overnight ventilation when the door is closed.

We have a large family bathroom with twin basins, a shower, and a spa bath which you’re welcome to use to relax in winter after a busy day. (Note: spa bath only available during winter months (May-August) when there are no water restrictions applying. Check with us first.) It also has a heated towel rail, and an electric point for shaver/hair dryer.

There’s a separate single toilet for your exclusive use.

The kitchenette area has a fridge for breakfast supplies, tea and coffee making facilities, and a toastie pie maker.

We provide a continental breakfast consisting of fruit juice, cereal and fruit, toast and spreads, and tea/coffee, and you are free to serve yourselves. You could also enjoy a full cooked breakfast at one of the excellent cafes in the town centre which open from 7 am.

We have a family area where you can sit and eat breakfast, have tea/coffee, and read, or use a laptop etc.

A twin bedroom is also available for individuals for an extra cost per guest per night (including breakfast) if the Queen room is also booked. It depends on your group and proposed sleeping arrangements, so please talk to us first and we'll let you know how it works.

This means we can accommodate a couple, two individuals, or a family group up to 4 people. Local laws do not allow more than 4 paying guests! While AirBnB count infants up to 2 years as free, we don't have the facilities for them unless they sleep in a bed in which case they are counted a paying guest (so you should select Child when booking).

We'll give you a grand tour when you arrive and you can ask any questions before settling in.

Just so you know: Our home is not suitable for a "holiday" type stay. We're catering for business people, international travellers, overnight travellers and regional/local folk needing a short-term place to stay while in Levin. We aren't able to accommodate long-term stayers (more than 10 days).

We are ideally located if you are coming from the Cook Strait ferries and we'll give you estimated travel times for check-in if you are heading south to catch a ferry. There's some roadworks around so you'll need to allow extra time in case of any holdups.

We have a STRICT cancellation policy and reserve the right to ask you cancel your booking request or decline your request if you don't meet our booking terms.

All communication must be via the AirBnB website at all times.

Guest access
Our guests can access the bedrooms, bathroom/toilet, kitchenette, and sitting room. You can also enjoy sitting out on our deck under our umbrella if the weather is nice.

Our main lounge and kitchen area, office, master bedroom, and garages are our private spaces.

Other things to note
On arrival, please park in the right-hand driveway, and come to the front door around to your right. We’ll then direct you where to park and unload.

We usually head off to bed around 11 pm, so would appreciate quiet time after this.

Our place is easy to find whether travelling from the north or the south via State Highway 1. We’re in a quiet area but handy to the main shopping centre, and there’s a peaceful domain with a lake within strolling distance to enjoy wide open spaces. The local aquatic centre is not far away and the main sports fields are just around the corner. The library and community centre offers a wide range of visitor services including internet kiosks, children’s area, exhibitions, events and crafts store.

There’s plenty of cafes, garden centres and restaurants within a few minutes’ drive for breakfast or lunch, and some nice restaurants and take-aways for your evening meal. The two supermarkets in the town centre are open from 7 am until 10 pm.

There’s also regular weekend markets, expansive beaches, idyllic forest and bush walks, and outlet shopping areas within 15 minutes drive. You can go from bush to surf in one day!

If you're filling in time, further afield you’ll find wonderful places to explore, such as Waiterere Beach, Southwards Car Museum at Otaihanga, Owlcatraz Native Bird and Wildlife Park at Shannon, Nga Manu Bird Sanctuary in Waikanae, outdoor pools, splash pads and picnic areas. Foxton also has a range of shops and eateries which will delight you, and the estuary and river mouth are popular fishing, whitebaiting, surfing, sailing and swimming activities. It’s home to a horse-drawn tram plus a sound and movie museum, flax stripper museum, and a dutch windmill.

Mike is passionate about miniature trains, having built several locomotives and carriages for running on 7 1/4 inch gauge railways in the local area. As an ex mechanic, he's quite handy when it comes to fixing or building things, and has owned and restored motorcycles, built beach buggies and trailers, and enjoys operating old-school type equipment. If you're mechanically minded, then you'll have a meeting of minds with Mike, and you may even get a guided tour of the man-cave. Dale is an IT professional who's interested in genealogy, having published three family history books, helped to organise two family reunions, and runs the family website. Dale also enjoys walking, swimming and public speaking. If you are tracing your family history, then Dale will have some tips for you. Both Mike and Dale have travelled widely in Australia visiting friends and family, and always manage to get a train trip or offshore experience built into each of their ozzie visits.
