This is not an eco-home. It's an eco-hotel. And while the separation between the two isn't much, this should have been made clear in the listing. A big part of why we even wanted to stay here is because we thought this place might offer privacy and seclusion. That's not the case when the rooms are all clustered together and there's plenty of outside foot traffic coming through to eat at the restaurant or explore the grounds. Worse, this particular room hardly offers any privacy considering it overlooks a popular thoroughfare for pedestrians, bicycles and motorbikes. Anyone passing by can simply look up and see what the guests are up to. Even the bamboo curtain to the open-air shower doesn't give you 100% privacy, which is crazy considering it's the part of the hotel room nearest to the bike path! (And it certainly isn't soundproof either.) Even more frustrating is that the other hotel guests were under the impression that the romantic nest was open to them as well. For the five-star price we paid for these accommodations, we were repeatedly put in the untenable position of asking complete strangers to vacate the premises reserved for us. Bangkok Tree House is novel, which allows plenty of photo opportunities. But novelty itself isn't worth the steep cost when you DON'T get what you pay for. The breeze off the Chaopraya is only cool once the sun sets; for the bulk of the day you're relegated to the cozy bedroom -- the sole place with AC -- if you want to escape the heat. And because there's no AC downstairs, you're essentially entering a furnace when you have to use the toilet or sink. The stairs are a nightmare when it comes to bringing any luggage or food trays up. (A dumbwaiter would help immensely here.) The toilet offers zero privacy -- only tinted glass with no door -- and the glass floor provided a view of all the detritus washed up from the river. (How hard would it be to simply have one of the staff go down and throw away the litter that washed up under the room, even if just the give us the *idea* that the place was green?) On a positive note, the staff were incredibly polite and accommodating, and they quietly went about establishing a little atmosphere by setting out flower petals and lighting candles in the romantic nest as the night wore on. The restaurant fare was so-so, but the drinks and snacks hit the spot. (I cannot rave enough about their iced tea selection.) Finally, as far as getting there and away goes, be warned that you and your belongings are all but guaranteed to get splashed if you go by speedboat. If you want to keep dry, the green ferry is (probably?) the better bet.

I havent been personally to this place as it was a gift for my best friend and her husband as they were on a honeymoon trip in Thailand . Needless to say ,they were very very happy . I have never seen them being this excited for anything . In my best friends own words "This is exactly what I dreamt a romantic and a beautiful place should look like , My honeymoon feels complete now ." The View was brilliant , and The service was prompt . They have no complaints , no regrets . This place is a MUST STAY !! Mark , thank you for taking such good care of everything . I could not have been able to plan this surprise and this trip if it wasn't for you . You're ,hands down ,the best host I have ever communicated with . I still feel it was a little too pricey for me , but when I saw what it looked like , I was totally convinced that it's worth the money .

I love working with travellers and residence owners to create a wonderful experience for everyone. I've been doing hosting and managing properties since 2013, across the world. There are such great discoveries to make in each place.

With my teams on the ground in Bangkok, Phuket, Saigon and the North Shore of Boston, we will welcome you warmly and help you to know great places to eat and explore.

I worked in advertising and research for a long time in Asia and the US. I love being in a different culture and learning new ways of thinking. I speak Thai fluently and OK in Chinese.

I have two kids in college (please support me!) and spend most of the year in beautiful New England, near my wonderful parents who also help me take care of guests.
