You are in for a wonderfully personalized adventure with Oyun & Botro! These sisters really went out of their way to meet my Vegan and Running needs. Oyun coordinated expertly all my driving and traveling needs, as Botro was a wonderful companion during my travels. Between now & end of winter (around early June), guests will stay at ger in the city, on a hillside overlooking Ulaanbataar. This is very much an authentic ger experience. Botra took care of my fires--for heat--and I finally earned Bawa the dog's trust after a few days. I hope to stay at their summer home one day as Mongolia is amazing outside the city (but in capital, definitely check out traditional singing -dancing-contortionist show--WOW!--National Museum, Veg Art vegan cookies from State Department grocery & Bosca Verde vegan Italian restaurant). Entrust your trips outside capital to Oyun, as well. On little notice & reasonable cost, she arranged my day trip to Terelj National Park and an overnight trip further out to Hustai and its surroundings. Seeing wild horses there at sunset was remarkable. This was my first time to Mongolia. After this trip, I cannot imagine going back without staying at Oyun's again--I. or out of city. In fact, I abandoned my prepaid hostel plans and instead stayed an extra 2 nights in Oyun's ger in the city. Dress warmly, bring baby wipes & prepare for a memorable adventure...

The host picked me up at the station and made me Mongolian traditional dishes. Ger was more comfortable than I had expected and I could enjoy experiencing nomadic life in Mongolia. I recommend this listing to whoever visit Ulaanbaatar.

My husband and I had a very unique experience staying at Oyuntsetseg's place. She met us at the Ulaan Bataar airport in the middle of the night and took us to her Ger in a very scenic valley. We stayed 2 nights and on one of the days she took us on a private tour to the Chinggis Khan statue and the Terelj National Park. We also got to milk some yaks and eat bread made with that milk. Over all, it was a very memorable stay with a Mongolian nomadic family. :)

A stay at Oyuntsetseg's place was a perfect ending to my Mongolian trip! I loved staying in an authentic ger, and I found it to be quite clean, comfortable, and warm (even during the windy days). Her home cooked meals were definitely an added bonus. I also enjoyed the picturesque scenery, hiking, and watching her herd of yaks. It was certainly an unique experience that I will cherish forever. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an authentic Mongolian experience.

This place is worth a stay. The experience can be magical but not for the faint hearted. You are very isolated but our host has a fantastic driver. This is the only way you can get around. He will pick you up from the station. Once at the Gur you will be surrounded by yaks and become aware of this traditional way of life. It is peaceful, beautiful and quite breath taking. Oluna and her sister were very hospitable and helpful, the fire was lit and we were fed 3 times a day. We loved it and are in our late sixties!
