A characterful cottage nestling in the Blackdown Hills (AONB) with a wood burning stove for added cosiness. Far reaching views, great walks from the front door, easy drive to the Jurassic Coast. Located in East Devon and near many attractions in Devon, including historic Exeter, as well as many places of interest in neighbouring Dorset and Somerset. With ensuite facilities off the main bedroom this is an ideal cottage for one or two couples, or a family.

The space
Very comfortable sitting room with dining facilities, wood burning stove (central heating too) and doors opening to the patio garden. Separate well equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and electric hob . Entrance lobby with stairs to upper floor where there are two bedrooms; the master bedroom (king size bed) has an ensuite shower, toilet and basin, there's a twin bedded room and a separate bathroom with hand held shower. The wood burner will be made up and ready for use with one basket of logs, if extra are needed they can be purchased from us. Smart TV.
Secluded and enclosed patio with garden furniture for your use only.

Guest access
We have 3 other accommodations on site. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumbler drier (small charge for use, we provide washing liquid and fabric softener) that is shared with all guests.
Off road parking on site.

Other things to note
*** COVID *** Guests showing signs of Covid-19 whilst staying at Meadow Cottage are required to go for a test at the nearest testing centre to us. The result of the test must be shown to the owner. If positive then the guest, and those people staying with them, must immediately leave if this is reasonably possible. If for any reason that it is not, and self-isolation is required to take place at Meadow Cottage, then all fees for all bookings affected by this self-isolation will be borne by the guest.

Electric vehicle charging point available, please notify us in advance of your visit if you wish to use it (we charge £5 per night of stay).
We provide clean linen (the beds will be made up), a hand towel and bath towel for each guest, bathmat, tea towels, basic cleaning materials, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.
At the end of your holiday please dispose of your rubbish and recycling (we'll show you where), strip the beds and leave the linen and towels in the bags we provide (this is a covid-19 precautionary measure to protect our cleaning team), and leave the property in a tidy condition.
If you need a cot and highchair they can be booked in advance (no charge) but please bring your own linen. There is a flight of stairs so you may want to bring a stair gate as we don't provide one.
We can accept TWO dogs (£4 per night per dog) but ONLY by prior arrangement at the time of booking. They may never be left alone unsupervised and are not allowed on any furniture.

We're surrounded by very peaceful countryside with plenty of wildlife and quiet lanes filled with flowers. Honiton is the nearest town with a good selection of shops and places to eat, the two nearest villages have welcoming pubs and in Churchinford there's a very well stocked shop selling locally produced foods.

I have lived here since 2004 when my husband and I swapped city life in London for the little known Blackdown Hills in Devon. Here it's possible to put the brakes on and slow down and nothing gives us more pleasure than watching the changing seasons, spotting the arrival of the first swallows and marvelling at the magical sunsets. We're spoilt for choice as there is so much locally produced food and plenty of pubs and restaurants that feature it, the coast is only 30 minutes by car so we get the best of everything, and we're delighted to share our love and passion for this area with all our visitors.
