We thoroughly enjoyed staying at 88 Miglia up in the hills above La Spezia. It was a great place to call home for 2 days as we explored Cinque Terre nearby. Carlotta and her family made us feel welcome and comfortable, even with a couple of rides down into the city, although I must add that getting to the B&B by foot is totally doable from city centre.
The views out the window were wonderful, with mountains, sea and little houses all around. The B&B itself is both modern and picturesque, with grapevines, deck chairs, and even a coop with chickens & ducks!
An added benefit was the restaurant up in the hills recommended by Carlotta and her partner - Acedeleo. Trust us, it's worth checking out! A 10 course meal at a decent price, letting you experience the flavours the region has to offer. And you can even request the vegetarian 10 course, which we must say was impressive!
The only little criticism we have is that there was an ashtray on the table outside our window, and we were able to smell it inside the bathroom. It would be great to keep it further away from the window I think.
Thanks for everything!
