I visited Gravenhurst with my boyfriend in early November as a quick weekend trip. I really enjoyed staying at Daniel's place: a private suite above a lovely and quirky store, inside of a beautiful old home that is well furnished and extremely comfortable. We booked this one since it seemed like it would be a convenient location, and we weren't wrong about that. It's on the town's main strip and close to restaurants, grocery stores, the local brewery and the waterfront. Parking is available out front. Daniel was there to greet us when we arrived, giving us a tour of the space, and made recommendations on activities. There's a huge selection of DVDs if you feel like staying in, so you'll definitely be able to find something to watch. Daniel sent messages to follow up with us during the trip to see how things were going and was very kind. In the mornings, we were given breakfast baskets with baked goods, juice and fruit. Coffee and tea was also available downstairs, near the back of the store. I was also quite impressed with the cleanliness of the suite. One thing to note: old houses can be drafty, so if you're visiting in cooler weather, you'll likely want to make use of the heaters. There's one right in the bedroom that will keep you warm!

Daniel was a great host, the space was super comfy and right in downtown Gravenhurst. We had a wonderful time and would love to return one day. Thanks Daniel! Ted and Kelly

This place is lovely, and right in the heart of Gravenhurst. You have your own private bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. It was quiet and cozy. Daniel is kind and thoughtful, providing us with tips as well as a picnic basket with a continental breakfast. We will definately go back!

We enjoyed our stay in Gravenhurst, it is a delightful town and Daniel’s place is beautifully decorated. We found the bed comfortable, and enjoyed the breakfast basket with fruit, juice and fresh muffins. The room is above Daniel’s store, which provided us with a great opportunity to browse through some great Muskoka housewares. Anyone with mobility issues should be aware that it is up a flight of stairs, and the bath/shower is a beautiful classic cast iron tub, but it is a bit awkward to get in and out of as it is raised.

A perfect spot in Gravenhurst. The accommodations were beautiful and had everything and more that we needed. The home is close to the wharf, restaurants and attractions. It was a lovely stay and Daniel was the perfect host.

Host was very friendly and helpful with local knowledge although initially miscommunication meant we couldn't get in to the apartment and had no tea or coffee facilities. Apartment VERY quirky! Lack of any kitchen area was a problem for us but didn't seem to bother other reviewers. Clean and comfortable but the bath is not suitable for bathing not least because there was no plug!

Response from Daniel:
Thank you M for taking the time to write your review and your positive feedback. I will pass it on to our team. Yes, a coffee/station is set up in the dining room area downstairs. Sorry you were not able to find it. There is a fridge in the suite as stated and no kitchen as in most bnb's which has been fine with all our guests for the last 3 years. Plug for bath is in basket right next to the taps which you may have missed. Yes, you are right that our home has a quirky, charm as can be expected from a Century Home. It also has a lot of warmth and character, many guests have noted. Most of our guests love it and prefer it over staying in bland and more expensive hotel rooms, any day. Best, Daniel
