It was great to stay in such a beautiful location within the Park. Garth was helpful and accommodating and provided good advice on things to do in the area including directions to the lovely swimming hole close by in the river.

We loved our stay in Cabin five. There are far more eloquent people who can tell you about Yosemite Valley, so I'll leave out those details, other than that the cabin is a stunning 45 minute drive away which never felt like a chore. To me, the cabin is in a perfect lcoation in Wawona, which is within the park but far enough away from the Valley to avoid the crowds, although we went at the end of OCtobver which was nice and quiet. It's located minutes from the main road, general store and there's a beautiful river moments from the cabin. Garth and Margina were very helpful, welcoming and always quick to respond. We had booked to stay in Wawona due to the valley hotels and campgrounds being full, but I'm glad it worked out that way. My advice would be to stop outside the park and bring in plenty of food. The stores are fine, but when it got to dinner time the choices were limited to frozen stuff, or the overpriced hotel.

This place is an absolute treasure. The cabin was perfect for our weekend stay and ideal for our commute between the Tenaya Lounge and the Valley. Garth and Margina were great hosts and very accommodating. They were incredibly friendly and provided answers to any questions we had about the cabin, the park, and hikes and wildlife in the area. They even let us play with their dogs! We will definitely be staying here again for our next trip.

This cabin is just what you need if you want to get away. No frills but very comfortable. Easy drive to Yosemite Valley. There's a market just down the road if you forget any necessities. We will be back.

If you are looking for a place close to the south entrance to Yosemite this place is great. The cabin is a little worn but very clean, with great deck and wood stove- firewood provided. Nice toiletries and good internet wifi connection which is essential as this whole area has almost no cell phone reception. We loved barbecuing on the deck and the proximity to some great hikes right out your back door by the Merced river; relaxing and laid back place to stay.

Had a wonderful stay in this Wawona cabin. Loved BBQing on the deck and the lightening storm was a true bonus! The river/watering hole near the place was so refreshing. Nice hikes nearby and though we didn't have enough time...horseback riding just down the street! Margina is lovely. Great communication with many helpful suggestions for us. Look forward to our next visit. Kevin & Christine Walsh Templeton, CA

3rd generation Yosemite son, and torch bearer of Camp Chilnualna in Wawona. Yosemite's best unkept secret since 1933. With 150 years of family experiences in Yosemite, I still find something new worth noticing every day & more than anything I love to share our history and our home with others. Families have made Wawona & Camp Chilnualna a tradition that spans generations. The best neighborhood in town because it's your neighborhood. I am here for you everyday of the year, because I never go anywhere & 6 hours of sleep per night is merely a suggestion.
Oh, airbnb wants me to give you my motto - they think I'd have a motto?
Ok I have a motto. You see, I've always strived to be an optimist, and was for a long time. It's tremendously hard work because my arch enemy, "the pessimist" is much greater in numbers, and has a terrible weapon we optimists can never fire - it's called "I'm just being realistic" and it's cheating to use it. Anyway I upgraded my motto from "The glass is half-full" to simply "Half-Glass Full". I need so much less than a full glass to feel grateful, and with gratitude we get to live half-glass full everyday. Pessimists can't touch it.
