Elliot Street Gem is a sunny, tastefully renovated Californian bungalow, a flat, 6-minute walk from Nelson township.

It has two bedrooms plus a “sleep-out” in the garden.

The section is level, as is the house: there’re just 3 steps between them.

There’s 1 off-street carpark and unrestricted parking curbside.

The space
New owners patiently awaited the opportunity to purchase the property. The stars eventually aligned. For the prior 15 years it was the residence of a Nelsonian artist and arts-community stalwart, whose good taste is evidenced throughout.

Cared for like a treasured relative, the house is in great condition. Oriented to the north-west and positioned amid a flat area, it takes advantage of Nelson’s sunny days. The interior is level, as are the grounds: there’re only 3 steps from 1 t’other.

The 2 bedrooms (1 with a queen-size bed, the other, 2 singles) are supplemented by a sleep-out in the garden (queen bed).

Sensitive renovations modernized the kitchen and bathroom. The fully-equipped kitchen has been opened-up to include the dining area, so chefs and non-chefs can socialize. The lounge is a restful square room, with comfortable bay-window-seat and gas fire. A deliciously sunny gallery will satisfy the heat-seeker and has French-doors to the deck and garden.

The garden is fun. You’ll believe you are just-over-the-dunes-from-the-beach, in a coastal landscape many kiwis will feel immediately familiar with. The sleep-out is on the right. Built and finished to the same standard as the house, it’s certainly no shed. On the left is certainly a shed, with laundry appliances & garden implements. In the middle is an adaptable dining/play space.

Other things to note
Cancellations.

We have chosen a "Strict" cancellation policy, as the lesser options left us too vulnerable. We can over-ride the policy & refund up to %100.

We are sympathetic to unexpected itinerary changes, & are flexible with applying the cancellation policy. Over 19 years of managing up to 16 properties, we have rarely charged a cancellation fee.

Income received from replacement bookings would commensurately reduce a cancellation fee.

Pro-tip: If you are happy to travel outside our summer months, April - May usually has stunning, settled weather. And the crowds are gone. Nelson winters are also nice, sunny & still.
