Dail and Artie's home in Little Switzerland is a delight and we truly enjoyed our stay. The home is very quaint and cozy and even cuter and roomier than the photos show. The back porch with such a lovely mountain view was our coffee spot in the morning and wine spot in the evening. The wooden interior highlights all the quirky & colorful artwork they have displayed. All the right homey touches were there - cozy throws, pottery coffee mugs, books, fresh coffee and cinnamon bread and a great selection of movies. The kitchen was very well stocked & had everything (and more) that we needed to cook for a family picnic. We loved the trail from the home to town - there are so many beautiful cottages and lovely views along the way. We enjoyed the shops and cafes at the Inn and also in town. Definitely pay a visit to Books & Beans! Dail & Artie communicated with us extremely well. You can tell they are very kind people and that they love their mountain home!

Dail and Artie went out of their way to make sure we were well accommodated for. Communication was excellent and their place is an great getaway. Has a "mountain cabin" feel, with an amazing view off of the back porch. The place was very clean, and also very close to activities in Little Switzerland. We stayed there for a motorcycle ride and loved being one hour away from boone, one hour away from asheville, and literally a stone-throw away from the parkway. Would absolutely stay here again. Great place, great hosts.

The art, the view, the warm reception, where shall I begin? Although our plans to hike got rained out, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful space to spend our time in the mountains. The art on the walls is just brilliant, and the rooms just make you want to curl up and stay forever. A storybook place to spend some time. Beautiful from every angle. And your hosts are just brilliant. Everything they could do to be helpful they did. Every issues we might have had was addressed in advance. (Believe them about the GPS!)

We really enjoyed our time at Dail and Artie's cabin. We spent most of our time relaxing and taking in the amazing views from the back porch. The rooms have lots of space and great natural light. The location was wonderful. It is a short scenic walk to the town of little Switzerland. The cabin is located near the parkway with easy access, perfect for day trips anywhere you want to go.

Artie and Dail's vacation cottage is situated in a wonderful location if you wish to spend quality time immersed in the serene atmosphere of the Blue Ridge mountains. Be sure to take Artie's driving directions with you as the Garmin GPS system doesn't work reliably. Once there, you should save the GPS coordinates for future trips. Enjoy your time there!

Our stay in this mountain home was more than we could have asked for. I would highly recommend a stay here and would be thrilled if our travels led us back here again. Our mornings were filled with beautiful natural light, hot coffee, sweet cinnamon toast and banana grams. We enjoyed interpreting the local art on the walls along with watching movies from their little collection. The view from the porch of the mountain was perfect, the flowers and landscapes, the location was close to incredible hikes, good food and scenic overlooks. Artie and Dail went above and beyond to take care of us during our stay. Even from afar, we felt their southern hospitality.

We met while still in college, literally in an art studio, and art and design remains the common thread in our lives. Dail is an architect with a masters in sculpture and I spent the 1st half of my career as a graphic artist and now a photographer.
Our mountain house is the result of a lifetime of wishing we had a place at the coast, but after taking classes at the magical Penland School of Crafts, where Dail also has done numerous design projects, our little cottage is the result of the love of that community, our fabulous view, cool mountain air and the friendships we've made.
We've had our getaway for eight years, and the first thing we recommend is the porch, where any cares can drift off into mountain ranges.
We love going to Greece, where my family is from: Cephalonia, and we've been many times. Travel is our passion.
