Both my husband and I stayed here and we absolutely loved the place. Brian was such a gracious host, he added all the amenities that you'd expect from a hotel and made it feel like home. The building has the charm of old San Francisco with all the modern touches inside. Such a clean and spacious apartment with everything you need in walking distance. Would stay again!

Host was prompt and had good information regarding the area. Building is a little older, but apartment was well equipped.

Brian was easy to work with. I arrived at the apartment and Brian was already there. We went up the to the apartment together. The elevator was broken so we had to take the stairs. It's on the 4th floor of the building. Once entered, I noticed an old building smell (The building is indeed really old). It was distracting but not terrible. Brian went over the details about the apartment (Wifi, checkout process..etc) and then left. The check-in process was smooth. I didn't stay long as I had to head back to the office right after. After a stressful day at work, I went back to the apartment and was greeted by the still-not-working elevator. I dragged myself up the stairs and again was greeted by the unpleasant smell... It seemed to have gotten worse at night... so I opened all the windows I can find in the unit. That seemed to help a bit. I took a shower and that's when I noticed the towels weren't fresh... It had that smell of being in a drawer for a long time... I was like whatever I am tired I just want to shower and sleep. As I entered the bedroom, I noticed an unpleasant smell... it was like the smell in the locker room... I got onto the bed and again noticed the sheets weren't fresh and had a unpleasant smell. Frustrated, I texted Brian and he assured me the towels and sheets were washed, but they were put into a drawer for a couple days... he suggested me to use febreze... =_=||| The rest of the stay involved being woken up in the middle of the night by police/fire truck sirens, car alarms, people yelling/talking on the street and people walking heavily from upstairs. The heat doesn't work despite multiple tries... maybe I just didn't know how to operate a radiator. On the flip side, it does have a good location. You can walk anywhere pretty quickly. The apartment is also pretty sizable and well equipped. Brian is nice and easy to work with...

Response from Brian:
Ken, I prepared the apartment very well. The sheets and towels were clean. The radiator works. I can't control the elevator, that just happened that day and there were signs up. I'm my opinion, the apartment building is very nice. No one has ever complained about an odor. As you mentioned, the apartment is very centrally located and I was very easy to work with. I met you personally and responded to when you needed something.

I had a great stay at Brian's apartment which is really nice and very well located (at least for my work in downtown SF). Brian was very helpful and even arranged for me to check in very late because of my flight schedule. I would highly recommend his place!

Brian was a fantastic host! He was very informative in terms of both directions/instructions for the building and on how to find parking within the area! The apartment was great - fantastic location just a couple of blocks down the street from Civic Center and just a short cab ride away from other great SF locations (castro, haight, etc.). Would definitely book with him again!
