Unbeatable location

100% of guests in the past year gave this location a 5-star rating.
Refurbished, delightful but old, country cottage on a working sheep and beef farm located 12kms from Waipukurau. Paratu Cottage is in a very quiet location with the option of strolling over the farm for the more energetic. Basic pantry items supplied in the cottage AND a Nespresso coffee machine.
Winter Heating- There is a log burner in the cottage that will heat the whole house. There is also plenty of firewood on hand to keep it going for you, for colder weather.

The space
The whole cottage is yours for your entire stay.
We will also have a bottle of wine and a couple of beers for you in the fridge. Milk is supplied along with a few pantry basics. Eggs are also supplied if the chooks are laying.
Please note that bedroom two has two king single beds with trundles (one a pop up and the other a pull out) under each bed. If you wish to use the trundle beds they will need to be pulled out and placed elsewhere in the cottage. There is also a double pull out sofa in the lounge. Although this is a double bed it would suit only ONE adult or two small children.
The space caters easily for 4-6 people, however if you wish to have 7 or 8 people this can be arranged, you will be quite cosy though.

Guest access
Please note that there is a larger than normal step down into the bathroom.
Please let yourselves in on arrival. The cottage will be unlocked, however it can be locked from the inside and if you wish to lock when you go ou, please use the back door.
For the more energetic guests, walking over the farm can be arranged. Not available during lambing season, approx end of July to end of August.

Other things to note
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only, but - we would prefer you not to bring them. You will not be able to bring your pets during lambing season, July through to September.

We are a working sheep and beef farm and will have farm dogs housed nearby, they are very friendly and will want to come and see you. Please don’t let them inside the cottage. Guests who bring pets must have their pets up to date with worm drenching. We are 3.6km along a narrow gravel road, please stay left at all times.

I do have other pets (goats, chooks, donkeys, sheep) that love to be fed and given lots of pats and cuddles.

I fully understand that breakages and spillages can happen, please let me know if this is the case by just leaving me a small note on the table.

Smoking and Vaping is permitted - outside only, please pick up your cigarette butts.
