Welcome to the beautiful Bickley Brook Valley, just on the edge of the city, in the picturesque Perth Hills. Bickley Brook Cottage is located at the bottom of the valley. During the winter months Bickley Brook flows through the property.

The space

The property is a magical oasis surrounded by natural bushland with an abundance of wildlife and several scenic walk trails. Come and enjoy this unique property in the Perth Hills.
An ideal base for bushwalkers and mountain bike riders.
Accommodation is available for up to 6 people with exclusive use of the cottage which includes a large log fire for cool winter nights, air-conditioning, self catering and laundry facilities.... your home away from home.
Only 15 minutes to the International and Domestic airports and close to Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, Araluen Botanic Park and the Bickley and Carmel Valley Wine Trails. Bickley Brook Cottage is an ideal base for bush walking, mountain-biking (free bike hire is available to guests), sightseeing or for just relaxing and planning further adventures around our great state.
Only 30 minutes from the Perth CBD, Orange Grove is a quiet, semi-rural suburb located in the foothills of the Darling Range, and has many local attractions such as the Mason and Bird Heritage Trail. This historic tramway once ran down past the property, delivering timber (then known as “Swan River Mahogany”) to Mason’s Landing on the Canning River for transport from the “Swan River Colony” to England. The slightly longer ‘Valley to Valley Hike’ trail links Bickley Brook Valley to the nearby Ellis Brook Valley, home of the spectacular ’60 Foot Falls’.

Great place in the hills. Stayed with two families and 3 kids, plenty of space and kids loved roaming round the gardens and playing down by the brook.

We stayed 4 nights in Perth city before we came to this cottage adn stayed for 2 nights. The moment we stepped foot into the cottage, all of us fell in love with it. Michelle is a marvellous host. She welcomed us personally with freshly baked yummy muffins, orange juice, fresh milk, bananas and english muffins. The cottage was even nicer than that shown in the photos. It was cosy, comfortable, clean and very child-friendly. I brought my one-yr old and three-year old toddlers along, and they loved the kids' room together with the toys. There's a really sturdy high-chair and pretty baby cot available for babies. The night view of the stars in the sky is amazing at night. There's a park and a playground nearby for kids to play and run around. Only thing was there is no central heating in the house, save for a fireplace in the hall and one oil heater that was provided. It could be a little chilly at night especially in the master bedroom as we used the oil heater in the kids' room for them. However, Michelle did provide extra blankets which could be used (though my hubby still found it a little cold). Overall, an amazing experience away from the city!

Bickley Brook Cottage was fantastic. It was exactly as promised, a lovely, quiet, cottage. There's not much of a brook in the middle of summer so don't expect to see anything like that photo if you're there in the dry months. But we did have kangaroos and their little joeys hopping through the yard on a daily basis and about a dozen different species of birds and a handful of interesting reptiles (no snakes). The place was clean, spacious, easy to keep cool despite the heat, had a full functional kitchen, pretty much everything we needed. You can also walk out the door and go for one of several lovely hikes. Michelle greeted us and was very friendly. We also met David briefly when he came over to promptly fix a smoke detector that needed a new battery. That was the only issue we had of any sort. I would highly recommend Bickley Brook Cottage, especially if you enjoy staying in a peaceful, rural, area and enjoy seeing the local flora and fauna.

We have lived in Orange Grove for well over 30 years and would love to share this beautiful part of the Australia with visitors from all over the world. We love to travel and like to "live like a local". We had this in mind when setting up Bickley Brook Cottage, and believe we have created a relaxed atmosphere, with comfy beds, reliable appliances and plenty of space to relax and unwind. We have provided books and brochures on local attractions and further afield. We look forward to meeting people from all over the globe and would like to welcome you to our "little bit of heaven".
