The Sage Hut is a traditional well-insulated design set on a sturdy all-metal chassis and wheels. It enjoys lovely views to the south with its own peaceful small yard/garden accessed from your own private car parking space. Sage Hut has its own small kitchen area with running cold/hot water, it enjoys mains electricity and the shower/loo is approx 30 m away and small fridge in stable. The woodburning stove is highly efficient.

The space
One or two horses are usually in quite close proximity, either in the adjoining field or in their stables. There is no actual cooker but a barbecue is available if required. Tea, coffee and continental breakfast is supplied (it would be appreciated if you could indicate in advance if this isn't required or any special requests like gluten free bread). There is a small fridge for your use. An information pack gives details of helpful local attractions, eateries, pubs and shops.

Guest comment: "What a great place you have here. So glad we're able to use it" "Difficult to tear ourselves away right now"

Guest comment: "Thank you for a lovely stay, I will definitely be back".

Guest access
The hut which incorporates kitchenette, woodburner, table & chairs, double bed with cushions for day bed seating, underbed storage, solid oak floors and patio furniture/barbq is for exclusive use of guests together with the shower/loo approx 30 metres away for the duration of your stay.

Directions: The Sage Hut is at The Mill House, Pencelli - 1st (stone fronted detached) house on R as you come into village on B4558 from the Brecon end. Obviously last on L coming the other way - past the Royal Oak pub on your L, round a sharp bend + approx 300 metres.

Other things to note
Good village pub with canalside beer garden. Lovely canal walks on the doorstep in addition to all the iconic hill paths. Horseriding, boating, fishing, festivals (Hay Literary in May and November, Abergavenny Food in September), shows (Royal Welsh in July), Brecon Theatre, Brecon Cinema, book shops, independent coffee/tea shops, markets (Brecon Tue & Fri; Abergavenny Tue, Hay-on-wye Thu).

The famous Brecon and Monmouth canal is only a field away for tranquil walks or bike rides (approx 4 miles into Brecon). Talybont on Usk reservoir is 3 miles to the east with stunning walks in the forestry around it plus waterfalls just to the south. Hay on Wye is only 14 miles away with its famous Literary Festival, book shops, market and unique style all of its own. There are outdoor activities on offer at Llangors and Cantref for ropeclimbing and horseriding. And Crickhowell, dubbed "The Chelsea of Wales" with its cafes, pubs and unique shops, is also close by. We are in the foothills of the Beacons so day walks from our door open up a myriad of places to choose from. Or the cities of Hereford, Cardiff and Newport are about an hour away.

Hi I like to think I'm a mature respectful and conscientious person. I love animals - have 2 rescue cats and 1 horse plus a loan companion miniature Shetland pony. I live in a stunning part of the country and deeply appreciate the scenery and wildlife. I used to work as a TV producer/director and now as a therapist. The Hut is furnished hopefully with everything you should need for your stay. Logs for the fire and charcoal for the barbecue are inclusive in the price. NB: COVID-19 I would like to emphasize that I am taking a sensible approach to the Coronavirus with extra days for deep cleaning between bookings. For this reason i have had to increase this year's charges slightly to accommodate the changes. I do hope you understand that it is for the extra health and safety measures required. The Hut is semi isolated anyway. If you would prefer to bring your own linen, you are most welcome. Otherwise it would be appreciated if all Covid 19 precautions are observed. Hopefully this will not detract from you enjoying a peaceful and happy holiday. I look forward to welcoming you.
