In the middle of Hedmarks unspoilt nature, by the lake Mjøsa, and in a clearing in the forest, Kampenhøj is situated.

The house is a separate, classic wooden log house, built in spruce, situated 30 min from Hamar, appr 40 min from Lillehammer.

The space

Staying at Kampenhøj you will enjoy a relaxing, close-to-nature and peaceful holiday adventure.

A cozy fireplace and electric heating provide comfortable warmth.

The house has two bedrooms, a private bathroom for showering and WC, a nice kitchen, two living rooms.

The house is situated on the farm Grefsheim, one of the largest farms in Norway with historic links back to the Viking era.

From the house you can make nice walks in unspoilt nature, pick berries and mushrooms, or walk to the lake Mjøsa, the largest lake in Norway.
If you are lucky you might even spot the king of the forest, the moose, in the neighborhood. Several of our guests have.

From the house there is only 800 meters to the lake. Here you can have a swim or enjoy the sunset over Mjøsa.

The area has much more to offer: the charming café and interior shop Skafferiet, the local restaurant Tingnes spiseri, galleries, historic garden at Hovelsrud are just a few examples of interesting destinations.

This dreamhouse is not only looking like paradise, it ìs paradise. We felt very welcome and at home in this sweet lovely cottage. Outside the house all joy of nature was there for us: rasp-, blue-, red- and strawberries, thousands of beautiful flowers, good weather (not too hot, not too cold, not too wet) amazing views, totally quietness and long light days. Thank you Anette, for sharing your place with us. And thank you, parents of Anette, for inviting us to your Olsok celebration at the lake, with delicious food and drinks, long tables, a hughe fire, meeting you and your nice friends and feeling very Norwegian. As I said, this ìs paradise.

Our family really enjoyed our week’s stay at Anette’s place. The cabin Kampenhøj is just beautiful, clean, well equiped and lovely decorated and the location is nice and quiet but still not far away from anything you may need. Perfect for a relaxing family stay! There is plenty of nature and fresh air around with blueberries and raspberries all around and we’ve seen moose and deer in the area on multiple occasions. Swimming in the lake Mjøsa was really great at the private beach, and the kids loved that we could use the kayak. Sitting by the fire at night was really nice, too. The area of Mjøsa/Ringsaker and Helgøya is lovely rural and full of ancient farmhouses and locally produced food and drinks and we enjoyed that a lot. Helgøya coffee/lunchhouse Skafferiet is among the must-go places! Although unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Anette because she had to work, the communication with her through SMS and email was superb, fast and nice and her parents were just great hosts. We felt right at home. One of the more memorable parts of our stay was being invited at their stunning historic family farm Grefsheim. They made us some amazing home made wafels and we enjoyed their hospitality and all the great stories they had to share. We will definitely visit again when we get the chance. August 2014

We had a wonderful stay at the Kampenhøj cabin. Anette made us feel very welcome & is an excellent host. Waking up hearing the birds outside, picking blueberries for pancakes, having a meal in the cosy kitchen or outside, seeing a moose with two kalfs, it all made our stay one to remember. Truly a home away from home. We also enjoyed the close by beach at the lake very much. Alltogether; this is the perfect place to get back to nature, but still within a 20 minute drive from Brummendal. Oslo is only 75 minutes by train. (& if you were looking for a place to write your book, you just found the place). Thank you so much, Anette! Looking forward to visit again. Kind regards, Bjarne
