The location was great the tipi was awesome, we loved the property and all of the little special touches. Have to admit was a little worried about it being in the yard but it was so serene and felt so secluded.....would love to go back

11 of us spent a full week at Lori's place. It could not have been better in any way. The place is so much richer than the photos show; it is comprised of 4 or 5 independent "units" that link seamlessly together when you rent the whole place. The river and oxbow are serene and…

We had a great time! Read the listing carefully, this is exactly as rustic as stated, and exactly as rustic as we were craving! We had a delightfully relaxing weekend, and we'd come back in an instant for more Tipi time. Thanks Lori!

There wasn't anyone there to greet us upon arrival, but Lori communicated everything well in advance by email. The Tipi is as advertised, and it might not be for everyone. It is not as private as you might think--it is in the corner of the property close to the road. But it is…

Lori was nice to talk to, however the Tipi was not reflected well on her page. First, you really shouldn't stay there if there is rain at all in your forecast. It will be cold and damp. The outdoor toilet is that, no top cover and a compost toilet. I was a little shocked when I…

Response from Lori:
The weather was a little rainy this weekend, but there are several ways to stay warm. There is a fire pit inside the Tipi and one outside. The Tipi is surrounded by a privacy fence at this time it is made out of juniper and strawbale with some 6ft bamboo fencing on the ends. We are in the process up making an artistic fence out of Pumice which Oregon has a lot of! We are excited about working with this green material. It is in a pile outside the privacy fence surrounding the Tipi along with a small cement mixer, that are out of view when you first pull up. We work on it in between people staying. I am a sculptress so this is a labor of love and will be a work of art when it is finished. Inside the Tipi area ( which is quite spacious) there is no evidence of it being in a construction zone. There is beautiful native grasses and landscaping with lots of flowers around a small waterfall and also a fire pit, seating for four under an umbrella. The kitchen also has a roof over it. There are plenty of ways to warm up if you need to. When it rains we close up the top Tipi flaps, this is the way that Sara found it. The flaps can be opened so you can have a fire. It's so magical to stay here in this atmosphere. The Tipi is also elevated off the earth about four inches with a floor made out of cement pavers it and has a thick carpet pad with berber carpet on top of that. There is one main bed. It's a thick futon queen size mattress. There are always clean cozy flannel sheets provided for this bed. There are also two large wool blankets, one down blanket and a couple smaller blankets. When someone lets me know that they are going to need two sleeping area's, I am happy to provide extra sheets for the fold down thick single bed. Sara never let me know that she would need extra bedding. There is a large lantern in the kitchen that can be moved into the Tipi for extra lighting along with small lights attached to the inside of the Tipi. There is several outdoor solar lights to add to the magic of the Tipi. It is always helpful if you bring your own headlamp or flashlight as you would when you are camping outside. There is a door on the front of the Tipi that can be tied tightly shut to keep squirles etc. out. Sorry Sara that you weren't prepared to be outside in the Tipi when there was weather in the forcast, we talked about that before you came. Happy Trails.

We had a really wonderful time staying in the Tipi over Labor Day weekend. It got MUCH colder than we had anticipated that weekend (below freezing), but the fire and the blankets Lori provided kept us pretty toasty. We did have a problem with the pilot light in the outdoor showe…

The tipi was perfect for a weekend get-away. The space was clean and had everything we needed. Actually better than advertised! We didn't realize there was a cooking area, second fire pit, and outdoor sitting area included as well! The land was peaceful and quiet. A great an…
