Enjoy the comforts of a sea frontage tropical wooden Malay house. A home situated next to the Chenang river and the local fishermen's pier, and is minutes away from the famous Chenang Beach. A perfect place to enjoy the sunset and relax.

The space

If it were not for the clock on the wall, time would not matter as you enjoy the warm sea breeze of Langkawi from the patio of a wooden home. We provide you the perfect space for that great escape from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle. All you need here is a good book, your swimsuit and your sunglasses.

This is an ideal way of enjoying a sunny Malaysian holiday as well as soaking in the Malay culture. Our home is situated strategically minutes away from the island's Chenang beach as well as other amenities.

The sea breeze makes it easy for you to simply do nothing from dawn to dusk. We encourage you to stay more than a night to truly enjoy your getaway.

Each chalet ideally accomodates two. We do not provide an extra bed. It is wonderfully ventilated with ceiling fans for your comfort but there is also air conditioning.

Initially we started with two chalets but thank you to overwhelming response from friends and relatives, and you our wonderful guests, we have built six new chalets. The new chalets are made up of three new buildings and there is an upstairs and downstairs unit. Upstairs and downstairs units are priced differently, according to the seasons. Each chalet is ideal for a couple.

Each chalet provides the perfect holiday ambience and a romantic setting. The greenery and serenity of Langkawi will surely engulf your senses and take you to different heights of pleasure.

You will find the new units listed here under Panji Panji upper floor chalets and lower floor chalets.

Guest access

Guests have access to the pool for a dip when the sun gets too hot as well as internet access for those who came here to finish a book! We have recently added a little pool for the younger guests. There are also newly constructed highwalls around the pool grounds to give you privacy during your swim.

There is also a fridge and kettle in your room, shower and umbrellas incase it rains. We provide a washing machine for you to do your laundry too.

Interaction with guests

A private area with minimal guests around. Our home is ideal for those who want to enjoy the sounds of nature.

Other things to note

Panji Panji is proud to present its inhouse cafe aptly called the Smiling Buffalo. Opens at 8am and closes at sundown, guests can enjoy a cup of specialty brewed coffee along with a breakfast dish of their choice. The menu is simple but prepared to ensure your tastebuds are satiated. In the evening, Smiling Buffalo is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset with a cold brew in your hand.

Just a great place to stay. The rooms are really nice and the surroundings are pretty. The cafe is just delightful, and we particularly enjoyed the live music at the weekend. Azmil and his staff were very helpful and we felt as if we stayed with friends or relatives. The perfect end of a four month trip for us.

Totally confortable place for friends/couples. The room is not much big and gorgeous but still clean enough and the furniture was very nice-kinda tropical taste. Also, all the staff are really kind. They have airport pickup & dropoff if you ask. (The owner may a collecter of old-style car... the staff picked us up by very cute old-style volkswagen van. Only one problem of this accommodation is there are too many mosquitos outside... Be careful about it.

We had an excellent experience in Panji Panji, Langkawi. Azmil is excellent host and manager. We were very touched by hist professional and kind attention to all our needs. We had no problems and enjoyed our stay in Panji Panji. The description of the place and location is accurate. It is so close to the beach and yet you have calmness of the vacation. Azmil showed us how to get to the main street areas using a shortcut and suggested wonderful places to taste a sea food. You should buy anti mosquito liquid available in all supermarkets. The equipment for the liquid is available in Panji Panji. There is also kettle and fridge which makes things easier. The pool is wonderful. I highly recommend this place. Mr. Azmil is wonderful host and manager in terms of professionalism and human kindness.

Truly a relaxing weekend. Flew solo from KL, picked up from the airport by Azmil. Flight was a bit delayed but he was there on time. He showed me around a bit, driving thru Pantai Cenang Street as well as the ways (yes a few ways) to go back to Panji-Panji. Saw from reviews that there are bikes available for free, and yes, they have 4. Have not been biking for years, but their bikes are easy to use. Hence, I was able to explore Pantai Cenang area via bike as I (romantically) dreamed of. ;) There were two chalets available but since the other chalet was unoccupied, I have the place to myself ---including the pool. :) Loved their location --close enough to cycle to the restaurants and bars but far from the noise. There were still construction on-going but never heard the noise. The construction crew were staying there as well, but never did I felt their presence, except when I needed help in one of the bikes.:) As a solo female traveller, I felt safe. I knew they were at one part of the property but they made sure to have me feel a sense of privacy. One thing I liked about Azmil as well, the manager, he was ready to assist and was ready with tips, etc but never the over assist type, which I dont personally enjoy. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) message and he's quick to respond.:) Indeed a great start to be acquainted with Langkawi. Would definitely love to return!:)

We had a wonderful time at Panji Panji. The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable and perfectly located. The highlight of the stay was definitely our host- Azmil, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. He gave us a tour of the local area, advised us on activities and places to eat. He even booked trips and taxis for us. We plan to stay at Panji Panji again if/when we return to Langkawi.

We loved out time at Panji Panji. Three days were far too short. The location is perfect - close enough to stroll over to Pantai Cenang, but far enough away to relax. We loved the fishing village at the back of the property - a great spot to have dinner. Azmil made us feel super welcome. We hope to be back again very soon - hopefully for a longer stay. The introduction of a new cafe will be great. The new chalets look absolutely amazing, although I'd prefer the rustic charm of the existing huts. I simply love the high ceilings - and the big front veranda is a perfect spot to kick back

This gorgeous home is paradise to a middle aged couple with five young children. Travelling is their passion and the only setback is their not so bottomless pocket. Their passion about tradition, nature and culture is reflected in the decor of their home. Their purpose is to make sure your stay away from home is comfortable and homely.
