Located at the base of Putney Mountain with access to spring-fed pond, bright stars, medicinal plants, hiking/biking trails and the wonders of nature sits a 400 sf studio with private, luxurious bath, queen bed and kitchen.

The space

With views of lovely spring-fed pond, this 400 sqft space is perfect for travelers that do not want any forced interactions or intrusions. We're located less than 3 miles to the Putney School, Green Mountain Orchard, downtown Putney and Landmark College, and it takes approximately 50 minutes to drive to Stratton, Mount Snow, Bromley; and, 70 minutes to Okemo. Guests can choose to enjoy the natural environment at our homestead, mingling with other guests or family as it unfolds, or trek out in the 400 acres of wild land that we border. The choice is yours; the space encourages freedom and authentic relating.

Guest access

The studio space has it's own private bathroom with a luxurious bathtub and shower, and a private kitchen with refrigerator, gas range and space to store items for eating-in. Guests can make their way throughout the shared yard.

Please do not enter the front door of the building as that opens into our tenant's space. You may enter the studio apartment from the sliding glass doors on the pond side of the yard, or via the garage doors.

Interaction with guests

Our two children each have their own relationship to playing outside and may not be as sensitive to a desire for privacy in our yard as Mark and I will be. If you want privacy in the outdoors-- rather than in your studio-- the mountain is covered with a trail system where you can find yourself *mostly* alone. Our intention isn't to create a highly interactive space with guests, but a private retreat-like one. Folks who may be coming specifically for astrology readings, ceremonies or personal sessions will be encouraged to fill up on the natural world before and after sessions.

Other things to note

I do not prepare a hot breakfast each morning but there is a coffee maker, and coffee available for you to prepare as you wish. You can also find wild medicinal herbs from the land for making tea.

We expect guests to care for the space by tidying things up at the end of their stay, and being mindful of the tenant living in the upstairs apartment. All guests are invited to generate goodness by 'paying something forward' to the next studio guest, like leaving a good book to read, a box of teas, bottle of wine, poem, special CD, etc..

My wife and I booked this unit for her 30th birthday. We spent the weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and close proximity to a few good hiking trails. The property, including a spring-fed pond, was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for having us!

We enjoyed a great weekend at Marcella's place on Putney Mountain. It is exactly as described- a charming space in a beautiful setting at a great price. Marcella was helpful and accessible. We would definitely stay there again in the future.

We enjoyed our stay and the long hot shower in this place. The room felt a little chilly in the evening hours but otherwise we did not miss a thing.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at Marcella's place. The location was fantastic, very close to Putney but still out of the way that you felt you were truly in the countryside. Marcella was an excellent host and provided absolutely everything we needed for our stay

I am an Earth Lover devoted to flourishing in harmony with all life. Along with being a Mother to six year old Hart and eleven year old Sky, I am a weaver and earther of vision. I have co-founded a mystery school, and served as a founding board member for two spiritual organizations dedicated to unifying people through ritual and ceremony.

I love SILENCE. Out of the half-dozen places we've lived in Southern Vermont, one of the key features that delights me about our home on Putney Mountain is that quiet is available. The wildlife around us isn't always silent but at key times it is, and I greatly appreciate it! We choose to live a pretty slow and still life in Vermont and travel elsewhere for expansion and stimulation.

I love to dance, garden and travel.
