Plum Blossom Cottage is nestled in a quiet garden in the heart of vibrant Inner Northeast Portland, Oregon. Walk to Alberta Arts District, Williams Ave. or Mississippi St. Access via 3 bus lines, MAX lightrail and Streetcar to Downtown/Pearl, the airport and Amtrak. We welcome all races, all religions, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations, all genders. We invite you to find refuge, relaxation, and respite in our cottage and garden.

The space

Our cottage and gardens are designed by a collaborative team of local artists and artisans and the result is a magical, unique, eco-friendly sanctuary with incredible artistic details.
Cork floors, recycled eclectic tile, a radiant heated pebble floored bathroom, naturally oiled wood finishes, 0 Voc emission paint and a reclaimed cherry tree are some of our features. The cottage can comfortablly sleep up to three guests, two in the loft and one on the sofa in the living room. We have an electric fire for cozy winter nights and air conditioning for hot summer days. We also feature a portfolio of neighborhood artist friends, tea gardens, and interesting, off the beaten path local treasures. Check out these friend's businesses:
FlyAwake Tea (amazing tea, funky, hip vibe!)
Rose Cabinet Medicine (best sauna deal in Portland! And it's private)
Heaven's Tea School (erudite about all things to do with Chinese teas)
ReRun (our neighborhood hip resale/consignment store, conveniently located 1/2 block from the cottage)

Guest access

Plum Blossom Cottage is self-contained with a microwave, electric tea kettle, a coffee maker and a mini fridge. We also have an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer and free wi-fi. We can provide a yoga mat or meditation cushions if you need. Guests have access to the gardens, but also enjoy a semi-private pocket garden of their own. Quiet hours are after 10 p.m.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to interact with guests. Plum Blossom Studio is not only a private residence, but also an artist live/work space. We are on-site for part of most days, either working in the studio or the garden. We're happy to share our knowledge of the region, the city and especially our neighborhood. We said it once, but here it is again: We welcome all races, all religions, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations, all genders. We invite you to find refuge, relaxation, and respite in our cottage and garden.

Other things to note

Our central city neighborhood is very dynamic right now with many wonderful changes coming soon: new retail, upscale and affordable housing, eco-friendly buildings, new landscaping! So we're running a special Monday through Thursday night offer for the next few months: "construction special". Our Monday through Thursday night prices will only be $70/night....all our personal touches such as flowers, cookies, tea and coffee will remain the same! Weekends nights will NOT change during our "construction special"! We look forward to hosting you in our beautiful cottage and helping you get the best experience out of your time in our beautiful and dynamic city!

WoW! This is definitely a special place to stay in! If you’re considering booking this enchanted tree house cottage, DO IT! I travel often using Airbnb and am a super host myself and this is one of the most special places I’ve stayed in. The tree coming through the center of the cottage, little loft, tiled and epically creative mosaic covered bathroom were a treat! Cibyl was friendly and greeted me when I arrived which I appreciated. She answered all my questions and was helpful before I arrived. Everything is cozy and comfortable about this cottage. I absolutely loved staying here and found it relaxing after a very hectic month. It’s definitely a gem!

Thanks so much for your sweet review. We're also very appreciative of your patience with our communication gaps prior to your stay. This was really the first time we let the communication ball drop and apologize that it happened with you. We've updated our AirBnb feature so that guests are automatically sent all the check in information that they need for check in. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
