Truly a tucked away gem, this dreamy 1BD spot is actually smack dab in the middle of the city! Enjoy a porch to enjoy your morning joe, a private parking spot & all the best Capitol Hill has to offer- minutes from restaurants, parks, bars, & grocery!

The space

Welcome to Seattle! I love this city and my plan is to make your stay here a sweet one. This apartment offers the best of both worlds: it feels like a quiet tucked away retreat, but it's sheer minutes away from the beating heart of Seattle's eclectic Capitol Hill neighborhood.

My lovely apartment was uniquely designed & crafted out of a farmhouse built in 1900. Quietly nestled, it has private entry, original exposed brick, hardwood floors, a spacious front porch with a grill, and the coziest living room set up that just begs for you to nuzzle up with a book and relax.

Your space features plentiful plants to keep you company, a bedroom with a double sized bed, an Apple TV set up for online television streaming, and a fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs!

This is a place for people who want to get comfy, stay in, cook dinner and enjoy it next to the exposed bricks and candles and or venture out to get some of the best grub in the city. This is also a place for people who want to be out all night and have a short walk home.

Walkable to Seattle University, this is a great spot for visiting prospective students & their families. Walkable to the Pike / Pine corridor, Broadway and the bustle of Capitol Hill. Located on the block of major buslines, you can choose to walk to downtown or bus it! Any way you slice it, this place has remarkable transportation options.

Guest access

Your vacation spot has a convenient private entry on the ground floor. The apartment has wireless internet. There is a television that has an Apple TV set up, so will have access to online programming like Netflix, Hulu, etc.

The kitchen is small & simple, but it has everything you need. Spices, oils, condiments, and grains (rice, oats, etc.) are all stocked for you. Feel free to use the stove, microwave, Cuisinart bubbly water maker. And please enjoy the local coffee that I will surely leave for you!

Although I travel a bit, this is a place I call home and therefore the limited closet space is private and in use with my belongings. I ask that you respect my privacy by keeping the storage spaces untouched. If you're staying for an extended period of time, or longer than a weekend, I'm happy to arrange drawer and/or closet space for you!

**This is a shoes off while inside apartment -- I appreciate the courtesy.

It's a building with older plumbing, and the bathroom sink tends to drain slowly - unfortunately it's a bit of a chronic issue.

Unfortunately, there are no pets allowed.

Interaction with guests

I am a friendly host and want to make sure that you have access to the experience you're looking for. I honor my guests privacy, so expect to have the place completely to yourself. Call or text me anytime with questions!

Selma's place is a great home to come home to at the end of the day! It is so cute, and so comfortable. Selma was an outstanding host--she is responsive and very responsible. I hope to stay at her place again when I return to Seattle.

Selma was great at staying in touch -- and since the reservation was made early -- made sure to touch base close to the arrival date. She provided great suggestions and helped me plan my first visit to the city. Her home is in a lovely neighborhood near Cap Hill, very close to everything we wanted, and she even provided a parking spot last-minute for when we rented a car to go up Mt.Rainier. Her space is beautiful with plants everywhere, great light and a relaxing deck area. She even provided a small charcoal grill upon request. Selma has an impressive (and daunting) library for when you get rained out and want to enjoy a book on the deck...maybe with a cup of complimentary local coffee. Also incredibly unique artwork adorning her walls! Would have liked some room to put our shoes by the door, and the couch did activate some allergies, but no real complaints! Was wonderful staying in an actual home with lots of character, instead of a "rental" airbnb property. Would definitely visit again.

I'm so glad to call Selma's lovely apartment home base during my stay in Seattle! Not only did Selma reach out prior to my arrival to ask about my interests and make some great recco's (Señor Moose for the win!), but she also left some delicious chocolate out to great me upon arrival. When I needed to stow my bags for a few extra hours on my last day before flying out, Selma was really flexible about letting me keep my luggage at the house until I was done touring (so thankful!). Excellent location and a cozy little spot to call home while you're out exploring the city. Can't recommend Selma's place enough!

We had a great time at Selma's. We never met Selma, however her communication was excellent. Arriving and getting inside was simple. The place was immaculately clean, and very nicely laid out and decorated. The location was great too, two minutes from an excellent coffee shop, and a 5-10 minute walk to many many, bars cafes etc. A bus that goes downtown was right on the corner. Definitely recommend.

Selma welcomed us with a bouquet and chocolates from Seattle. I loved the location, which was close to a ton of great restaurants and bars. We had a car and used the parking space, but we didn't need to use it much because most everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. Selma seems cool and was very responsive, though we didn't meet her in person. She left us coffee, but I recommend going to the coffee shop around the corner.
