Considering the cost to value of this property, here is what I have to say: To be brief, and this is said after spending more than 30 days in that home, I think that the cost of rental is way over-valued. The house is obviously very spacious, it was probably the house of a well-to-do family in the relatively distant past, but in its current state, all amenities are without-a-doubt old and not working very well. The kitchen's fridge was very old: the guardian of the house had to nail a cable on the adjacent wall to make sure that the freezer's door could close properly so that the alimentation I bought at the market (fish, meat, etc.) we wanted to store there would not go bad. The toaster and other kitchen utensils were very old. There was one TV in the living room that didn't have the channels promised. There were many washrooms with older facilities: the toilet seats were broken, all of them. The one in the master bedroom was in such a state that we needed to old it with one hand when urinating (as a male does) using the other hand... The master bedroom had two very nice nightstand lamps, but there were not connected to any outlet. Many of the electrical outlets around the house didn't work at all, signaling the age of the electrical cable in the house. There were many ele trial switches that I am still wondering why they were there... There was a old television in the master bedroom that absolutely didn't work... Obviously, the house's owner is more interested in taking money out of the house than in investing in modernizing its holdings. At the time of my renting the house, there was virtually no competition in the house rental market. If there is one when other potential renters consider renting this one, I would urge them to seriously consider the other options, if there are any...

This is quite surprising since the guest and I were in contact and he never mentioned any of the listed issues. The electrical had all been checked and were working before his arrival. There are power fluctuations in the area which can contribute to a fuse blowing from time to time therefore I have them checked regularly and they were all working on his arrival. The television in the master bedroom was working when I used it a week before he arrived. I also put a new television in the living room and installed a box to give more channels! He specifically wanted Nickelodean which I later found out was not offered. All of the toilet seats had recently been changed and were not broken before his visit. The refrigerator closed fine before his visit. Etc. Again I wonder why he did not address these things in any of our exchanges. He appeared to be pleased and enjoying his stay. His family of four enjoyed a large house with huge grounds and a helpful staff at a discounted price. It would seem these issues would have been voiced during his lengthy stay so they could have been addressed if they were truly of concern. But that was not the case.

Michelle's house is very beautiful and quite spacious. We had six guests staying comfortably at the house. It was a nice getaway from being in Accra. The only downside would be that there is limited wifi. We didn't know that the wifi was limited so we ended up using all of the allocated data within our first night. We are college students so having dependable wifi was vital for us, so it was a bit of a bummer to know that there wasn't unlimited wifi. However when I brought up the issue to Michelle she told us that we would have to pay if we wanted to buy more wifi but graciously paid for 10GB for the rest of our stay. Besides the wifi, if you plan to stay here just make sure that you always remember to turn off all plug outlets and AC when you leave. There were times when we had left to go for the day and returned and the power would be out on our side of the house and we didn't know why. Benjamin, the house manager, was able to turn back on the power though once we let him know of it being off. We did find some geckos around the house that were in the bathrooms so that scared us a little but they weren't too bad. In all, the house is beautiful with a great kitchen and being literally 10 minutes away from the beach was amazing.

Response from Michelle:
It is written in the house rules that a prepaid allotment for wifi has been paid. If the guest runs out they can then top it up on their own at a minimal cost (approx. $20) I am sure with 6 students the usage was above normal. In Ghana wifi is on a pay as you go basis. Because wifi usage is personal habit I cannot be responsible for usage. As in a hotel one has to pay for wifi usage or it is included in the price of your room. Because of "dumber" and escalating electricity costs, guests are requested to turn off the air conditioners and water heater when not in their rooms to conserve energy and the well being of appliances. If this does not occur the power is set to switch off and is turned back on when guests return. The grounds are sprayed regularly for mosquitos and bugs, etc. However this is the tropics, near a beach setting and geckos don't always obey the rules haha. You were so nice I went ahead and topped up the wifi but I am not under obligation to do so. I am so happy you enjoyed your time away and hope the rest of your studies go well.

Michelle's House is wonderful. The bedrooms and common area were HUGE and very comfortable. The terrace area is the type of place you just want to sit in for hours on end, reading or doing whatever. Some of our group walked down to the beach for a walk and got to see the fishermen pulling their nets in. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful with information about restaurants and nearby sights. The caretaker was extremely helpful with planning and immediately fixed issues we had with the air conditioners. He also provided help above and beyond any expectations we could ever have when he provided extensive guidance and assistance with a small crisis involving our automobile. I hope we can come back.

A very lovely home and is indeed exact;y as the pictures show. Even though, Michelle wasn't around personally to welcome us due to other commitments we were left in the very safe hands of a helper that ensured that we had the best time in Cape Coast. He was very willing to show us around the town and even pointed to us the best places to get food and drinks despite arriving very late. We felt at home in the accommodation. The house is an 8 minute walk to the beach but not exactly advisable to go at night as it gets pretty dark in the area early. The house is also only about 30-45 minutes away by car to tourist attraction venues like The Elmina and Cape Coast Castles which was very ideal for us as we wanted to experience it all.
