I had a wonderful time in NYC staying at Michael's place. The neighborhood was cozy, with the C-train subway right across the apartment (15 min to central park), as well as a grocery store and 24hour laundromat. It was quite convenient! Although I didn't get to see Michael during my stay, he frequently touched base via text/email to make sure I was doing okay and asked if I needed anything--he went out of his way to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable and I really appreciated that. Lenny, the superintendent who managed the building, is fantastic! When my bed broke, Michael offered a replacement and Lenny came in to set it up for me so I didn't have to worry about it. Both Michael and Lenny are friendly, welcoming individuals. The place was gorgeous, wonderfully priced, and comfortable. I stayed there alone for most of the month, but during the weekends I had visitors, and there was enough space for up to 4 people comfortably (we had our own air mattress set up in the living room). I would definitely seek out this apartment for another stay the next time I'm in New York. Thank you Michael and Lenny!

Pros: very close to the C train, felt safe traveling to and from all hours of the day and night Cons: not a great place for the summer months - the skylights make the rooms sweltering during the day, the apartment was not very clean when we arrived, the description says up to 3 people can staybut the space is definitely only meant for a single or couple, parts of the tiles and counter were coming apart, and the air conditioning unit did not work very well Lastly, Michael was unfortunately not a very good host. After messaging him multiple times about an issue, it was never taken care of and even after the super came to check on the broken dishwasher, it was never fixed. I was very disappointed with my stay and I would not recommend staying here mainly because of the lack of help and and the amount of time it took for anything to get done.

Response from Michael:
I agree that without adding an extra bed, it is not suitable for 3 people but Jeremy made the reservation FOR ONLY 2 PEOPLE. When he arrived he said the apartment looked great. He asked for a mailbox key and I got him one . He had a full 3 room apartment in Manhattan with free Utilities and WiFi for about $70 per day. The dishwasher is not mentioned at all in the listing but when his group arrived it worked and when they left it was broken and 6 bathroom tiles were knocked off the wall (that has never happened before). The super took out 4 bags of beer bottles and garbage(URL HIDDEN)Michael

Michael's apartment was perfect for my stay in NYC. It was exactly as described, quiet, safe, and conveniently located near a laundromat and grocery store. Michael made sure that I had everything I needed. Great place to stay!

I was lucky enough to find this great rental in Washington Heights and spend about four months in this lovely brownstone. I loved the neighborhood and the apartment. This apartment is close to trains and markets. Fast internet and a great bargain for what you get. Michael was available whenever needed and I look forward to renting the apartment again when we are back in NYC

Response from Michael:
Janel was a great guest who arrived and departed on schedule and was respectful of her neighbors. She left the apartment clean and in good condition and I would certainly host her again if she returns to New York. Michael

I moved to Manhattan almost right after graduating college and have since lived in almost every neighborhood. I am a member of several local organizations for more than a decade. I own properties in 3 different Manhattan neighborhoods.
I enjoy skiing, boating, billiards and tennis and have recently enjoyed a beginning in yoga. I would like to re- take up racquetball and golf which I used to play when I had more time and I love to travel.
