Staying at Liza’s feels like a rural retreat yet it’s a short drive to anything you might need! The house itself has amazing history & a very homely feel to it. Lots of trails nearby for walking & it’s a cyclists heaven. Liza is a wealth of information & a generous host! We love it here!

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 kids and my sister while we were attending a wedding in the area. We just wanted somewhere to stay but this property is so much more. There is a wealth of history that comes with this house - absolutely fascinating. Be sure to ask Liza about it. We loved the complete farmhouse experience we had - loads of cast iron fixtures and appointments from another era. We were very comfortable - honestly felt like home away from home. Our late check in seemed to be no problem - Liza even helped us out with some provisions for the next morning :) The area is beautiful too. Frenchtown is lovely and we had a lot of fun shopping there - so much art, and very dog-friendly! It is extremely quiet and restful around the property. Thoroughly relaxing. Even our dogs loved it!

Wow, WHAT a location! We felt entirely “away from it all” during our 3+ weeks on this very private rural property set in a lush spread of preserved forest and meadow. We were intrigued to learn that the house and farm were once occupied by a Revolutionary War captain who was instrumental in supplying boats for the Christmas Day crossing of the Delaware. Perhaps it was he who installed our fabulous fireplace, reportedly the largest in Hunterdon County. Liza, the current owner, is a warm and attentive host. If something is missing, not working, or not to your liking, she’s immediately on it. The spacious apartment is rustic—recommended for more laid-back renters who don’t mind the mustiness and lived-in feel of an unrenovated, very old historic house.

Liza is the most amazing and accommodating host, and her property is stunning. We were greeted with fresh hand picked flowers, fresh fruit, carrots, seltzer water, and a fridge and pantry stocked with the basic necessities. We fed the horses, played with the dog, and relaxed on the porch. Stockton, Lambertville and New Hope are quite charming towns, we took day trips to the nearby Lavender farm, picked fresh berries and fruit, and visited Philly and NYC. We would move in if we could. Hope to be back soon. Thanks!

We had a lovely stay at the farmhouse and Liza was a fantastic host! The huge hearth in the dinning room was beautiful, the living room cozy and a lovely kitchen to prepare a few meals in. Beautiful bedrooms with tons of light. The surrounding countryside was a needed break from life in NYC and found some lovely trails and gravel roads to go out for runs. The region is beautiful with lots of historic sites and charming towns. Enjoyed seeing the Stockton Inn, wandered around New Hope, went into Philly and Princeton for museums and galleries. Liza's home was a wonderful home-base for our long weekend in NJ.

Gorgeous country farm stay in a truly original 1780's house with old stove and cooking utensils, cozy cottage-style bedrooms and large living area with 50" HD TV. The host Liza was very welcoming and friendly and prepare a fridge full of goodies.. chocolate cake , cans of soda and even a watermelon on our check-in...even Spooner, her rescue dog was welcoming but never intruding. The house has its own entrance and big dinning room with the old stone cooking stove. All the rooms had its own air-conditioner and a extra portable one in the living room. There are also nice trails to walk or cycle around the little roads and along the creek. Many eating establishments nearby, an old stone inn and tavern and a little General Store with homecook Chinese food as well.
