A large double bedroom in a house on the green of the quiet village of Baldersby. Five minutes from the A1 and the East Coast Mainline. Good access to West Yorks and North East conurbations as well as the National Parks of the Dales and N Yorks Moor.

The space

We have a double bedroom with a small chair/bed for a young child. The room is spacious with a lovely view across a paddock, farm and far reaching fields. In the room there is a sink and plenty of storage space. There is a private bathroom next to your room. Parking is always available in front of the house.

Guest access

Wi-Fi and local tourist information available in the room. Guests will have full use of a private bathroom.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to make drinks and have a light breakfast (provided by your hosts) which can be eaten in the kitchen/conservatory or study. We are happy for you to use the TV in the study and when the weather allows you are very welcome to relax in the beautiful garden.

Interaction with guests

We are very easy going and enjoy helping with any requests including advice on places to visit and eat in the local area. We can also help with lifts to Thirsk station and to other venues near by.

Other things to note

Baldersby is a small quiet village of about 250 habitants. There is a farm shop, cricket field and small children's play area. Unfortunately there is no Public House in the village, but plenty can be found in near by villages and towns.
Baldersby has excellent access to the A1. People who come and stay can get to Leeds, Bradford and to Newcastle and Middlesbrough in less than hour.
The village is in the Vale of York and is equal distance from the Dales and North Yorks Moors National Parks. Wensleydale is within easy reach. Ripon with Fountains Abbey, the breweries at Masham and Middleham
Castle. In the other direction is Thirsk, an attractive market town made famous by the writings of the vet James Herriot, Sutton Bank and the White Horse at Kilburn and beyond that the picturesque town of Helmsley and the Moors.
The historic city of York can be accessed easily by road or rail and the Spa town of Harrogate is near by.
Information of the wide variety of local attractions is available in the room.

We had the most comfortable stay, thank you. The home is spacious and attractive, not to mention spotless. A fabulous modern bathroom of our own and the use of a large conservatory and kitchen. Sara and Rob are thoughtful genial and respectful hosts

Rob & Sara were great hosts and made me feel really welcome at their home. I followed the instructions and found the house and room easily and when i returned from the wedding I attended was greeted by Rob & Sara who had some friends over for a evening meal and drinks. Breakfast in morning was perfect with lovely orange juice, tea and honey granola - I need to exit swiftish to make the local Park Run at Fountains Abbey. This is the most amazing setting for a Park Run and i am gutted i didnt have more time to check it out. I would definitely stay here again if i was visiting the area, great stay :)

Lovely home that is clean and comfortable. Sara and Rob went out of their way to advise me about what to see in the area. They stayed up late to greet me as my plane arrived late. They are both very easy to talk to and hopefully I will see them next time I'm in this neck of the woods!

I only stayed at Rob and Sara's place for one night because I was taking part in a sporting event on the Sunday. This meant I didn't really spend much time at the AirBnB because I had plans that evening, but it was absolutely perfect for what I wanted which was a clean, comfortable bed for the night close to the start of my event. The room is large, comfortable and traditionally decorated. The house is really lovely and the garden looked fab. I had breakfast in the conservatory (very early as I had a very early start!). I had the sole use of a lovely big bathroom with a shower and a bath. If I were there for a weekend exploring North Yorkshire I'd say this was a great location from which to explore, it's very quiet and you would need a car (probably) but from here you can drive out to all the main sights and areas of interest of North Yorkshire. Sara was great with communication, emails a week or so before and she sent me her mobile number for the day so that we could coordinate my arrival.

We had a very comfortable stay in Rob and Sara's home. The location is right in the centre of Yorkshire in a quiet village. We were made very welcome. There was everything that you might need for a great stay. We would highly recommend a few days (at least) in Rob and Sara's home. Thank you so much.

Sara and Rob are fantastic hosts. Immediately welcoming and friendly with a relaxed vibe that made me feel at home straight away. I arrived late in the evening which they said wasn't a problem, enjoyed a good chat and then headed up to the room. The room was lovely and clean, very quiet and dark - perfect for a good night's sleep, and the bathroom was very nice with with strong water pressure. I was visiting the area for a wedding and Rob generously dropped me at the church! The next day Sara took me to the wedding brunch - so kind. If I'm in the area ever again I wouldn't hesitate to book with Rob and Sara because besides the accommodation being ideal, I also really enjoyed their company. Cost-wise the room was less than half the price of the Premier Inn and much nicer. Thank you Sara and Rob!
