Located in the Virgin Islands, on the East End of St. Thomas, the Garden Room is a lovely alternative to an impersonal hotel room. Comfortable, clean, and within walking distance to beaches and restaurants, it's perfect for an easy island vacation.

The space

The Garden Room is well maintained, comfortable, and equipped with everything needed for a relaxed vacation. A small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster oven are provided. It's simple and charming; the perfect place to rest after a long day in the sun.

Guest access

Several gorgeous beaches are within walking distance. Beach chairs and tiki huts at Cowpet and Elysian beaches are free for guests. Watersports centers at local beaches rent equipment such as paddleboards, windsurfers, peddleboats, etc. I provide beach towels. There are plenty of restaurants on the adjacent Ritz-Carleton and Elysian properties that welcome all visitors.

Interaction with guests

I like to greet guests upon their arrival to the Garden Room and acquaint them with the accommodation. I am happy to answer any questions or address any needs during the guests' stay.

Sophia and Jon were great! It is the perfect location to get around easily, with restaurants, beaches, and bars, all very close and accessible. Highly recommended if you're looking for a place on the east end!

Nice cozy condo for price but far from town and main places like red hook. Listing mentions that red hook is 20 minutes walk which is not correct because it is very dangerous to walk on roads anywhere in the island. Coffee machine was provided but without creamer and sugar. Commode had some blockage time to time.

Response from Sophia:
Hello Viney, I have read your review and I would like to clarify a few things. There is actually a very nice 20 minute hike to Redhook from my Garden Room along beaches and trails that I would have been happy to give you directions for if you had brought the issue to my attention while you were here (I would never recommend walking on the road). I do normally provide a variety of coffee sweeteners; I am sorry that was overlooked during your stay. As for creamer, I have found that guest preferences differ greatly and most such products do not keep very well in the tropics so it is not something I typically supply. I would have been happy to provide both items for you, but the only communication I received from you about the issue was a single text asking for creamer sent to me at 10:30 pm while I was sleeping. Finally, I sincerely wish that you would have notified me when you first had an issue with the toilet so that I could have fixed the problem for you, and told you how to prevent it from happening again. Instead, I didn't find out about the situation until I entered the room to clean after you left. When I walked into the bathroom it was obvious that the toilet had overflowed, our good towels had been used to soak up the dirty water, and the toilet bowl was full of toilet paper. After spending a couple of hours cleaning up the awful mess, removing all the toilet paper from the toilet, and unblocking it with the plunger that I provide our guests for just such a situation, the toilet worked fine. I have not had any problems with the toilet before or since your visit. If you wish to have a more positive experience at the places you stay at during your future travels then I highly recommend that you communicate any problems or requests to the management promptly, and at an appropriate hour of the day (unless it is an emergency).
