Our 100 year old house was totally renovated in 2010. We kept as much of the timber structure and features visible to connect with the soul of the place. Just 50 meters from Trondheim Fjord, paradise for relaxation, biking, hiking, and reflection.

The space

The house is bright and quiet, just 50 meters from the sea, and surrounded by forest and farm land. upstairs are three bedrooms that share a bathroom and one (double -en-suite bathroom) master bedroom, along with a small library and craft area. Downstairs is a washroom, small home office, living, kitchen and dining areas finished with an open floor plan. The dinning room has direct access to a large veranda with outside dining furniture. The cellar has a TV room.

Each guest will have access to our home. The small home office will be locked but all other rooms are available. Wireless internet, cable TV and all the usual amenities are available. Downstairs has a heat pump that keeps the house warm in the winter and is supplemented by a wood burning stove.

We will meet or arrange for a neighbor to meet our guests with a key and basic instructions but will not stay in the house or visit while the house is occupied (unless mutually agreed).

We live in a farming community by the sea. If you enjoy outdoor activities this is a great place for you. Running, biking, boating, skiing, fishing, climbing...everything. If you want solitude to relax and unwind, this is your destination. The summer sunsets are incredible and the winter northern lights are stunning. Keep in mind that farming has periodic routines like fertilization and harvest when there are the sounds and smells of the farming process.

There is no public transport. Guests will need a car. Biking to a nearby village for shopping is possible but getting to and from our home requires a vehicle.

Sea Kayaks, bikes, and outdoor gear can be arranged.

Other things to note

Sea Kayaks, bikes, and outdoor gear, maps, etc can be arranged.
Vegetables: Many of the farmers in Frosta sell their vegetables directly from the farms. They usually gave a small building by their barn that says “Grønsaker” These vegetables are delicious and sometimes they have other locally produced food products for sale. We encourage you to try them out. I have marked one called “Valberg” on the Air B and B map. Turn left from our house and drive a half mile to find the closest one.

Steve made us feel very welcome from the start. He provided great information about the house and how to find it, as well as local amenities. He and his partner were very generous in entrusting their beautiful house to us and loaning us kayaks, bikes etc. This house has a warm family atmosphere that made us feel at home straight away. It is in a fabulous setting, with astonishing views of the fjord and ever-changing skies. The nearby scenery is lovely too and with historical sites to visit. We hired a boat for fishing from a nearby harbour. A great stay.

Before we arrived, Steve made sure we were fully informed of the directions and gave full instructions on how the house worked. On arrival we couldn't have been more impressed; the house itself was quite amazing and the views from the back over the fjord were stunning, worth the trip alone ! The house had everything we could have possibly wanted and more; every conceivable appliance, TV, Internet, Netflix, wood burning stove and even a small gym and workout area in the basement. There was an eclectic selection of books; more than I could have read in a lifetime ! We felt honored and privileged to have been allowed to stay in this wonderful family home.

Response from Steve:
Paul, next time I want to be home and we can pack a tent up on the mountain to catch some yummy trout. I look forward to meeting you and appreciate the way you cared for our home. Sorry about the password for the new router - I forgot to change that in the house rules!

Steves home was the perfect place for our family of five to spend our two-weeks summer holidays in the wonderful area of the Trondheim Fjord ! We enjoyed the view from the big terrasse and the diningtable to the sea - it was just amazing. The house is really comfortable and the three Kids had each their own room and a separate bathroom and loved to play football and use the Trampoline. Thank you Steve for everything we will definitely come back someday!!

Loved Steve's house by the sea! Quiet, comfortable, beautifully done. A charming mix of modern and rustic. There were 5 of us: my husband and I, my 80-year-old father, and my 14-year-old twin boys. It was the perfect space for us and the perfect home base for our visits to Hegra and Trondheim.

Robin, sorry about the clothes in the dryer. My wife blames me and I blame my oldest daughter. Glad you had a good time at our place.

Steve made us feel very welcome upon arrival and the house and location were just as described. We had a lovely and relaxing break, with beautiful views, walks in peaceful surroundings and a couple of outings on the fjord in the sea kayaks that were kindly provided. Highly recommended!

About Steve

I am the CEO of an aid organization that works with refugees and displaced people from Burma. I love my refuge by the sea and my family takes full advantage of the many activities found in the surroundings. We hike, kayak, bike, run, fish, and bathe in the sea. Our home is comfortable and peaceful.
We have three children from 12 to 18 so you can expect the house to be equipped for a family of five.
