This is one of the nicest families ever to run an Airbnb homestay -- and I should know, as I've stayed in more of them all around the world than I can count. We felt so at home there and the list of kindnesses extended to us is too long to review here but an example: my travel partner accidentally left his camera battery on the bed when we moved on to an Airbnb in Kerala's backwaters. He was frantic, as he is a photographer/artist and this was his only camera (his iPhone already having been stolen in Delhi). We called to see if it was there, thinking we could figure out some way to arrange a delivery. Instead, Johnson hopped on his motorcycle and drove over an hour to deliver it himself. He wouldn't even accept help with the gas money. Our room and attached bath were spacious, spotlessly clean, and comfortably decorated. The shared guest kitchen was a convenient plus, too. Both the air conditioning and internet were terrific, although there were some city-wide power shortages caused by the extreme heat and over-use of electricity while we were there. Luckily, the home has a backup generator to operate the lights and ceiling fan, so this helped us get through those times. The house couldn't be in a better location. It's about a block from the Kerala Kathakali Center and only a bit further to the Basilica, Parade Grounds, Princess Street, etc. Both Fusion Bay and Oceanos, terrific Keralan-style seafood restaurants, are within easy walking distance. This homestay was a wonderful experience for us and a terrific introduction to Kerala's famous hospitality and grace.

This place is a gem. Tucked away down a leafy alley, it is surrounded by palms and banana trees. I loved going up onto the roof terrace at dusk to watch the sunset as the Krishna eagles, crows, and 2 types of bats circled around. The host, Johnson, is very charming and helpful. It's not hard to find as he has signposts on the road, and to guide you down the alley. It feels very safe there. My room was v spacious and clean with good wi fi and air con, and a large, modern, wet-room style bathroom. There is a nice communal kitchen, with an electric kettle ( Bring tea bags and coffee!) and a little balcony. Most rooms also have a little balcony of some kind. This place is excellent value for money - people in my party paid more for places not as good as this in Fort Cochin. Tips- Johnson booked taxis for me, and arranged a really high quality 'backwaters boat trip' day for me and my friend. It was lovey to see nature close at hand, and there was a delicious traditional lunch as part of it - this trip was much better value than ones you will book from any UK agent. ( it only cost 850r for a whole day + lunch!) It's not far to walk to main attractions- there are some great restaurants just up the road, and the main venues of the Biennial are walkable, if you don't want to get a rickshaw, ( here they are motorised 3 wheelers, and v cheap and efficient if a little over keen sometimes). If you are a coffee addict who needs it in the morning- DO BRING YOUR OWN, as though there are cafe's that do real coffee they are not so abundant as you might expect, and very few supermarkets. This is a great BnB, (or 'homestay' as they call them here), Johnson has recently built a whole new wing, so there a lot more (brand new) rooms than it might appear at first. I highly recommend it!

This is a great place to stay in a very central location in Fort Kochi. We found it easily (it's right on the bus route from the airport, and well signposted) and were welcomed warmly by Johnson. He gave us some great recommendations for places to eat, and made himself available to help whenever we needed it. The room was clean with a nice shower, icy cold (much needed!) AC and a good wifi connection.

Room was really clean. I was surprised to not find a single mosquito in the room and bathroom. AC was nice. The room is very private. You have access to a fridge and convection stove. Good wifi. The location is convenient to Fort Kochi and other locations. There are restaurants and cafes a short walk away. Overall very pleasant.

We had a great time at Aaron's home stay. The family was very welcoming and kind. The location was quiet, down a small lane but central for the tourist sites and an ideal place to stay if you have a few days to explore Fort Cochin. Johnson was an especially helpful host. He had lots of advice on great places to eat and was happy to organise a backwaters trip for us as well as transport on to our next destination - he really went out of his way to be helpful and it made things easier for us. He was very patient and careful in giving advice and is obviously a very honest and good man. In the middle of one night the whole town had a power cut for a while and he kindly came upstairs to let us know what was happening. We felt welcomed by his whole family, everyone was open, friendly and kind. The listing was all accurate, the room was very clean and comfortable. If we return to Cochin we will stay at Aaron's home stay again without hesitation. We had a lovdly stay and I can strongly recommend Aaron's home stay.

Le logement était grandement fidèle aux photos et au-delà de nos espérances! On a adoré y être sachant que tout se fait à pied ou en vélo (ce qui est très agréable ) et plein de restaurants sympas sont autour ! :)
