This is the small cottage connected to the larger farmhouse, which can be rented for a couple. The villa crests a 17th-century hamlet in the department of Vaucluse, a charming pocket of Provence swathed with vineyards and dotted with villages of ancient stone. Spend sun-kissed days tanning by the pool or in the renovated gardens, trying your hand at the local cuisine or sampling the region's fine wines and cheeses.

Location

Crillon-le-Brave, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France

Provence offers a huge choice of experiences and opportunities to enjoy its art de vivre through its food, wine, art, history and, of course, its people. This is the deep Provence of olive groves, cherry orchards, lavender fields and truffle trails. The Rhône's top wines estates, from Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Beaumes-de-Venise, are within easy reach, as are the lavender fields of Le Sault. Serious cyclists are within pedalling distance of Mont Ventoux, whose legendary limestone summit is the greatest challenge. Gordes, the Luberon’s loveliest perched village, is a 40-minute drive away, as are the cultural honeypots of Orange and Avignon, both blessed with great summer festivals.
