An exceptional rustic retreat in the heart of Glendalough, ‘An Cillín’ takes its aesthetic cue from its stunning natural surroundings and echoes the ancient welcoming atmosphere of the historic monastic city which it overlooks. This is a truly unique studio cottage, with bog oak and yew timber features, an antique limestone sink and leaded glass church windows. Cosey up next to an authentic wood burning stove and enjoy our ‘monsoon’ rain shower or watch the stars from the terraced garden

The space
An adjoining courtyard framed by beautiful, traditional willow fences and featuring an outdoor pizza oven and fire pit, provides the perfect setting to enjoy a glass of wine to the soundtrack of mountain streams and The Glendasan river.

You will also have access to a terraced garden that boasts unrivaled views of the valley, and Derrybawn and Camaderry mountains. Adorned with ancient granite ‘mushrooms’ and benches, and two incredibly comfy ‘egg swing chairs’ this is the ideal spot to drink in the postcard perfect vista.

Other things to note
We are located right next to The famous Wicklow Gap Road and guests should note that this experiences traffic, particularly in the high season.

Sofa Bed is a King Size state of the art model.

A single fold out bed for a third guest can be arranged.

As we are situated in the mountains, phone signal and WiFi may sometimes be interrupted or slow

It is worth noting that the old stone stairs to the private garden and cobbled pathways, while charming, are of their time and caution is advised and recommended at all times
