PRIVATE Basement APT. with FULL kitchen, 2 bedrooms, den, full bath and private entrance. There are NO STEPS! Walk right into the apartment from the yard. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. We are conveniently located close to UT Campus, Downtown Knoxville, and West Town Mall. Many wonderful specialty restaurants and quaint upscale shops. Groceries close by are Whole Foods, Kroger, Food City, Trader Joes and Aldi's.
You will have your own private basement apartment with a separate entrance. Just outside your door is a wooden swing, chair, and small table to relax.
Your living area is cozy with a couch and chairs which faces a fireplace. I am sorry to say, it is not functional, but adds warmth to the area.
There is a large kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, microwave, refrigerator, etc. I think you will have everything you need to cook and eat in for the evening. You will also have a Keurig coffee maker for your morning coffee. If you are needing a specific item, you are very welcome to ask to see if I have it upstairs for you to borrow.
Your bathroom is small but includes a vanity with large mirror, toilet and a steam shower with massage and radio. I think you will like this shower!
Your bedroom has a lovely antique double bed and dresser with mirror. I think you will feel right at home here.
The room next to the bedroom, has an antique twin bed with a bed side table, lamp, and dresser. It is a small room without a window, but perfect for the extra privacy. It is much better than me setting the bed up in the hallway (This is what I used to do if the extra bed was needed).
Linens, blankets, and towels are included in your stay.
You will have access to our wireless internet. There is a Smart TV in your living room which as cable TV.
Please don't hesitate to ask for specifics. I will be happy to accommodate you the best I can.
Interaction with guests
I love meeting new people but understand you will be exhausted when you arrive. Since we have separate entrances, we will not run into each other unless you have questions. I would love to answer any questions you have about Knoxville or the surrounding area. If not, I will leave you alone to enjoy yourself.
Other things to note
Don't hesitate to ask if you can check in earlier or check out later. If I am not getting ready for another guest, I don't mind you staying longer.
I think you will have everything you need, if not, don't hesitate to ask me. I would like for your stay to be comfortably and pleasant.
I do have cats that are indoor/outdoor that live upstairs. They are not allowed in the apartment. The apartment has always been pet free.
Sometimes I forget to tell about the light switch for the kitchen, so I'll say it here. The light switch for the kitchen is located in the living room area on the wall above the chair.
PLEASE, NO SMOKING OR ANIMALS. If you have to smoke, please be away from the house.
Since this is a nice quiet neighborhood, I would like the same from my guests. Respect my property and take care of it as if it was yours.
No parties, drugs, or smoking.
Please wash the dishes before you leave.
I am a Special Education Teacher at an inner city school in Knoxville and love my job! I'm easy going and love to be around people that can make me smile or laugh. My hobbies are my loving family, traveling, gardening, and sitting at the lake. My wonderful daughter, Lara Beth, keeps me young and laughing all the time. She will be living in Haiti for the next year and I will miss her terribly. My son Thomas, daughter-in-law, Kelsey and baby Nala (part dog/human) are as equally wonderful. They both have great jobs with YoungLife and helps out with my Airbnb when needed. I love every minute I am with them! I love meeting new people while traveling or hosting. I have been an AIRBNB member since 2013 and meet the most wonderful people.
Live life to the fullest starting now, because you may not have tomorrow!!
