The house is tastefully furnished with period antiques, vintage finds, original heart pine floors, and lots of natural light throughout. Your cozy Living Room with its original brick fireplace, a 32' flat screen TV with Xfinity cable, DVD player, and Wi-Fi, opens to a spacious Dining Room with seating for 6. On the second floor, 3 themed bedrooms, all with new upgraded mattresses, accommodate up to 6 guests. Choose from the 'Fit For a Queen' bedroom with a Queen size vintage four poster bed. Full beds are furnished in both the 'Tybee Time' and 'Southwest Siesta' bedrooms.
The full bathroom includes a brand new tub/shower combination with plenty of fluffy towels, hair dryer, an extra capacity washer/dryer, ironing board and iron for your use. In addition to new central air/heat units for each floor, all rooms have ceiling fans for your comfort.
This entire 2 floor house is rented by guests. That also includes a private courtyard area with deck behind the house. For convenience, guests are given a personal code to access the house the day before they arrive and are able to use it for the entire duration of their stay. There are no keys to lose. If guests return at a later date, they will have a new code to use. We ask that all guests keep that code private (please don't yell to another guest who has forgotten it) and it is given only to guests who are staying at the house. This is for your personal security. If you feel like a code has been compromised, please contact us immediately and we will change it for your peace of mind. We live next door so if you have any questions or issues, feel free to text us at anytime.
Interaction with guests
Although we live next door to "As Time Goes By" we respect our guest's privacy completely. We are there if any issues arise during your stay but will not intrude at any time unless these basic rules are broken:
NO SMOKING (inside, outside on the porch or deck areas), NO PETS and 6 person Maximum Occupancy. No Parties or Events are allowed at the house.
We are happy to answer questions, make suggestions and help our guests in any way we can - if they ask!
Other things to note
*We are LEGAL & LICENSED SVR-00098.* Savannah DOES require all STVR within the city limits to have a license # listed. If you don't see one, then the property may be shut down by the City for non-compliance prior to travel. Contact them at (EMAIL HIDDEN) to confirm a rental is legal BEFORE YOU PAY.
We start you with supplies so you don't have to go right to the Kroger for items like coffee, tea, creamers, sweeteners, spices, paper products, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. We welcome our guests to pay it forward and add to what we've left for them.
**Please Read -We require ALL guests to agree to the following in their Rental Agreement prior to finalizing their reservation: **
-NO SMOKING of any kind ANYWHERE on the property (that includes inside the house, outside on the back deck or front porch. We also DO NOT allow vaping anywhere on the property.) We have a wooden house, deck and pine straw mulch so the risk of fire from even one cigarette is too great. Because we make this rule clear before booking, and it is posted clearly at the front door, any guests caught smoking on the property will be evicted immediately. NO EXCEPTIONS.
-6 Person Maximum Occupancy limit that includes all adults and children (and infants too) as TOTAL number of guests for any reservation. We are licensed by the City of Savannah and must maintain our 6 maximum occupancy rate. There are no exceptions, ever and this too, is cause for eviction without refund.
-NO PETS - We love animals but have created an ALLERGY FREE zone for our guests and need ALL guests to respect this rule for the health of all. We live next door and will know if you are breaking this rule. No Pets may 'VISIT" either!
-NO EVENTS are to be held at the house (in keeping with the 6 person maximum occupancy.)
Well behaved children and infants are welcome to stay and are considered to be part of the 6 total occupants. We DO NOT have any cribs, high chairs, or playpens at the house. Guests must provide their own if they bring children.
Although we do respect the privacy of all of our guests, we do live next door and if we become aware that any of these rules are are not followed, it is grounds for immediate eviction with NO REFUNDS. We want you to enjoy your stay and we want to be able to give you a five star review, just as much as we would like to receive a five star review. If the rules don't work for one or a few guests in your group, then it is best to book where the rules do work so you can all enjoy your trip to Savannah.
Otherwise, we expect all guests will be respectful of the house and it's furnishings and we thank them in advance for observing these rules.
My husband and I have been married for 30 years and lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia in Bucks County, PA for most of that time. We visited Savannah, GA many times between 2007 and 2013 to spend time with our daughter who attended SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) and chose to remain in Savannah. We loved the history, architecture, arts and culture of this city. The warm winters, friendly people and Southern hospitality brought us here to live permanently in 2013.
Savannah is a great place to pursue our hobbies such as visiting historic sites, antiquing, kayaking, gardening, bicycling and time at the beach. We've made many friends and met interesting people here in Savannah and are blessed to call it our home.
It has been a real bonus for us to have found such an ideal property that we could live in one house and rent the other to travelers from around the world so they can fall in love with Savannah, like we did. We are here for our guests if they need us, but respect their privacy throughout their stay at "As Time Goes By."
