WELCOME / WILLKOMMEN / BONJOUR! This charming studio apartment facing an inner courtyard awaits you in 1190 Vienna. I have designed and lived in this cosy place myself for years so rest assured this will feel like a REAL home and not like yet another hotel room.
Curious? Here are the details:
The freshly painted 35m²/380ft apartment is centrally located: the nearest tram stop is a 5 minute walk away, and in 6 stops or 10 minutes you will be in downtown Vienna (1010) where all the famous museums, churches, theaters and coffee houses are situated.
Grinzing with its lovely Heurigen taverns (live music every night) is just a few tram stops away as are the charming X-Mas markets that so many people come here to see. The building itself is located at the corner of a nice, public park. The closest subway (U6) is a few minutes (and a nice walk through the park) away as is another line, the U4. A huge supermarket and several wonderful restaurants (including Vienna's first brewery making delicious beers and serving authentic food) are just minutes away.
The airport is about 30min by car and 40min by train. The main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is about 35min by public transportation, Westbahnhof about 20min.
Coming by car? FREE GARAGE PARKING is available to you at the corner of my street. Upon your arrival, I will give you a parking card that will enable you to pull in and out as you please during the duration of your stay. It doesn't get much nicer than that in a city! (For your information, a daily ticket in my garage comes to 24 EUR.)
The bed is brand-new as of March 2017 and you will love it: high, comfy and queen-sized (1,60 x 2m). There is a chaise longue to rest your head after a long day of sightseeing.
Feel like watching an old film? The classical Hollywood film of the 30s - 50s was my first great love as the studio will show. I can answer any question you may have about Barbara Stanwyck, Joan Crawford, Cary Grant or Billy Wilder. The films are all there.
Bread, eggs, various fruits, cereal & yoghurt, jams and spreads as well as a variety of teas are at your disposal for your first morning so I guess you can call my place a bed & breakfast (with self-service that is). And there is a Nespresso machine, of course. The only thing missing is George Clooney!
Please don't be afraid to reach out - I usually respond to requests right away, certainly within one hour. If we hit it off the booking can be finalized VERY soon.
PLEASE NOTE: I do not charge a cleaning fee because I don't believe it's the right thing to do. Thank you for treating my place with respect and for leaving it the way you'd want to find your own home in.
WiFi internet, flat screen TV w/130+ channels, DVD & CD player, surround system, fridge, washing machine, a Nespresso coffee machine not to mention sheets, linens and towels, of course. Everything that's in the kitchen, really.
Interaction with guests
Being an avid traveler myself, I am well aware of the importance of hospitality. I am more than happy to provide people with important information regarding food (we love our deserts, and not just Sachertorte), museums (Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka anyone?), public transportation, and not-to-be-missed sights, anything really to help make your stay a special one. I look forward to answering any questions you might have.
Other things to note
Check in: FLEXIBLE. Just tell me when you plan to arrive and we can work it out. Should I have had guests before please understand I need time to set up the place for you.
Check out: FLEXIBLE as well. If I don't have guests arriving right after you you're welcome to stay longer.
@ listing photos: most of these great shots were taken by the wonderful photographer Marton Varhomocki. Thank you, Marton!
1.) Please INTRODUCE YOURSELF in your inquiry. I usually react to requests within 1 hour but I am unable to accept people who only tell me "we are coming on Monday ". As this is my home I need to know
- WHO is coming (what do you do, where are you from?)
- WHAT YOUR PLANS ARE while here (work/pleasure?)
- HOW (car/plane/train?) & WHEN (time of day?) you plan to arrive.
2.) NO SMOKING in the apartment. If you are a moderate or heavy smoker please refrain from booking.
3.) I do not charge a cleaning fee because I don't believe it's the right thing to do. THANK YOU FOR TREATING MY PLACE WITH RESPECT and for leaving it the way you'd want to find your own home in.
