To the south of the homestead, Mt Napier appears on the horizon beyond the Muddy Creek valley and productive farming land.

The Tarrington area is a picturesque, undulating landscape. The township named as Hochkirch by its German founders in 1853, changed its name to Tarrington in 1916 due to world events at the time. It has maintained a strong and proud German heritage. The town boasts one of the best cafes/restaurants in the district Café Catalpa, is family owned and operated and is only 4km from “Pierrepoint”.

This location oozes rustic charm. We found it to be warm and cosy on a cold winter night, while the facilities are modern and very functional. Our hosts were there to meet us at out late arrival and ensure we were aware of where everything was located ... then left us to enjoy the accommodation in private. Our only advice to others enjoying this stay is to take it easy on the roads, especially after dark, and watch out for the kangaroos who have very little road sense.

Response from Jennifer:
Thank you for your warm, lovely review & yes, great advice for others; the roads are in very poor condition in & around Hamilton and, surprisingly, there is alot of wildlife around here!

Jennifer was easy to communicate with, easy going, nice & very welcoming! Place very clean and matched photos well. Noise does transfer easily from other room but no issues otherwise. Beautiful property, wish had time to explore more!
