Gourmet breakfast with homemade breads in the garden or on the balcony with stupendous views... that is what awaits you here. This house is close to many places of interest, Joshua Tree, the Integraton, among others. I look forward to meeting you.

The space

I'm offering 2 rooms in my 3 bedroom house, each one rented separately with a bathroom next to the rooms. Each room has wonderful desert views. The whole house is available (with the exception of the kitchen), and It is spacious with a large sunny balcony as well as a private garden area for sunbathing. The special aspect of this house is the quiet tranquility that is due to the relative isolation of the property. Also there are truly magnificent views of the desert.

Guest access

Breakfast according to guests' wishes with home baked bread and lots of variety. Also picnic lunches can be provided on request. I prefer to keep the kitchen off limits due to my baking business. Otherwise the rest of the house is open.

Interaction with guests

According to the desires of my guests I am very happy to share any information they may need or just to "hang out" with them if they like. I respect the wishes of my guests and am by nature very friendly. I may be around and about during their stay because of gardening or cleaning or cooking. Nonetheless they will have as much privacy as they wish.

Other things to note

Generally checkout times can be later rather earlier (noon) but there are weekend days when I have a commitment at noon, in which case checkout needs to be at 11:00 am. This is variable and I will always let the guests know ahead of time.

Had a wonderful one night stay at Sampatti's house. It was comfortable and a great respite after a cold night of camping in the area. My friend and I were just looking for a place to crash, but lucked into finding Sampatti and being treated to such warmth, wonderful hospitality, great conversation and delicious homemade artisanal breads. Would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Sampatti's house is so cute. The atmosphere and character of the building itself makes you feel right at home. Like other reviewers said, staying with Sampatti is like visiting family. Immediately, she takes you in and cares for you. She makes the most delicious meals, and she is so pleasant to talk to. She really makes you feel part of her world. Unfortunately, I didn't wake up early enough to see the Yucca Valley dawn from Sampatti's house, and I didn't get the chance to see the view from her balcony, but I'm told they're both incredible and I plan to see them the next time I visit. I got lost on the way to her house, and when I called her, she spoke to me like she'd known me my entire life. She quickly gave me accurate directions to her place and said she'd make dinner for me once I got there. Sampatti is one of the sweetest most selfless people you will ever meet. Please, if you get the chance, go stay with her! Not only is she wonderfully nice, but her house is also charming and filled with her beautiful photography, lovely plants, and music. She also has cats. I'm terrified of cats but these were soo loving and sweet.

Going to Sampatti's is like visiting with family. You are staying in her home, meeting her cats and we were lucky to be staying the night before she was having a bake sale. She was concerned about the mess from this but we got to see (and smell) some of the Bread Lady's wares. She was worried about us arriving late with no supper and plied us with snacks and tea and in the morning made us a fresh baked galette. Sweet.

Sampatti is the ultimate sweetheart! Our booking was fairly last minute, and we arrived later than expected, and Sampatti handled it all effortlessly. Despite being a group of 5 and arriving at 11pm, she insisted on feeding us and giving us a cup of tea before bed, and we instantly felt at home. The desert is a beautifully serene place to stay, and Sampatti is never short of stories. Hopefully we'll all make it back there one day. Thanks a million Sampatti!

Sampatti is an extremely friendly and welcoming host. She is quick with responses, flexible with arrival/departure times, and provides a very tasty breakfast which often incorporates her famous bread (she is a talented baker). The home is located a few miles north of Yucca Valley and has a spectacular view of the high desert. Sampatti has a talent for letting guests feel as if they are in their own homes and provides interesting topics of conversation in a quiet environment.

Sampatti is a really nice host. She is really responsive and friendly. She hosted us with a warm welcome at night and a homemade breakfast in the morning! Would really recommend her if you would like a delightful stay around Joshua Tree!

I am a people lover, a world traveler, a linguist, a cook, a gardener, and a musician, among other things. Who I really am is a mystery, even to myself, I am still learning. I love to laugh, to dance, to share my activities with friends, and there are no strangers in my life. I am very grateful for this life and the riches of my adventures. Please share some of yours!
Some things I would miss if they disappeared would be good books to read, the chance to cook ethnic food for my friends, to sing out in the desert, to pet my cats, to plant seeds and watch them grow. I love all kinds of music, but especially opera. It will be so wonderful to have visitors in my home. I like my own company, but totally enjoy making new friends. Let me spoil you! My friends call me Sampatti.
